I've been to the Bamboo Dumpling Bar once before over a year ago and thought it would be a great idea to try this little restaurant out again. Based in Surry Hills, it is a small restaurant and can seat about 50 people at benches...whilst the interior is decorated with bird cages hanging from the ceiling. There are also pieces of art work decorating the restaurant which brings some life to the place. Every day they have a different special and the special for Sunday was $10 dumpling mix plate which consisted of 6 dumplings with different fillings in each including prawn, pork and chive, mushroom, vegetarian, and two others. We also ordered the BBQ Pork Buns,Chilli Beef Buns and the Peking Du...

I ate here with a friend on Saturday 21st November we tried about 5 different dumpling dishes, they were all as good as I've ever had anywhere (think similar quality to Din Tai Fung if you know it!? and the prices were very...reasonable! About $10/plate and we finished the dinner with some caramel and chocolate spring rolls, on the recommendation of the helpful waitress (she wasn't wrong, they were really great! . The bill came to about $30 each for food, plus drinks on top although I went a bit overboard when I saw that they had Tasmania's finest Sullivan's Cove whisky (in Oak Barrels , which was a rare find in a Sydney bar it was $25 for a generous pour on the rocks, pure warmth mmmm My on...

Our family visited this Dumpling Bar for lunch. On a Monday in school holidays we easily got a table. There are long share tables as well as a long bench under the window. The restaurant is part of the Royal Albert Hotel and you can...bring drinks from the bar we had the organic Tasmanian cider. The waiter was friendly and attentive. We ordered a selection of dumplings, as well as the salt and pepper squid (dish of the day!! and chilli and prawn spring rolls. The food was fresh and tasty and came out quickly. Make sure you save room for desert. We had mystery desert dumplings which consisted of 6 different ice cream flavour dumplings vanilla bean, mango, strawberry, chocolate, green tea and...

Always on the look out for a good dumpling place without having to go into Chinatown (lazy as I just want somewhere local. This place soared past my expectations for a few reasons, the food was exceptionally tasty (we ordered the $35 a head banquet. ...A great diversity of dumplings including Peking duck pancakes. and the two main dishes that came out were cooked exceptionally well cooked and tasty (bbq with Asian greens and salt and pepper squid. The venue is quirky and fun the staff member Jazz was attentive and had a great sense of humour and really added to the evening. I will definitely come back. Réservez une table maintenant

We enjoyed this place and its quality food. Probably not the normal place to take young kids. But we did and had a great 6:30 meal before the later cool crowd took over. Fresh home made dumplings with a modern edge. Salt and pepper squid...was very fresh. Great place and not expensive.

Technically, I think that the Royal Albert Hotel the Bamboo Dumpling Bar are separate companies side by side, but you can enjoy from one on the other so that you can use a combination of delicious craft beer on tap and delicious dumplings... this is unbeatable. Réservez une table maintenant

Had some nice dumplings and other treats for a friend's birthday. The restaurant looks like it's best for groups from 4 to 6 and, as it can be quite loud, I wouldn't be here for a quiet night. A reasonable price and a decent wine menu.
