We’ve established that restaurants in Pézenas do not do breakfast and so on a Monday morning we ventured out to Place Gambetta to grab a coffee. Our normal haunt ‘L’Arc en Ciel’ was closed and so we graduated to the restaurant next door. Like many...in Place Gambetta this restaurant has a seated area that goes out into the square and when we arrived at about 10:00 there were only 3 other people drinking coffee there. The greeting that we got was curt, no smile, no bonjour or any real reflection of interest. We gave our order for two cafe creme to the waitress who then continued to wipe down the boards surrounding the restaurant for a minute or two before taking it into the restaurant. There...
Ce restaurant bénéficie d'un emplacement magnifique sur la place principale, au cœur de la vieille ville de Pézenas. Le service était sympathique et attentionné, mais nous avions des avis mitigés sur la nourriture. Ma femme et mon fils ont vraiment apprécié le leur mais j'ai choisi...les Moules Mariner Maison et les Frites qui étaient extrêmement décevants. Servi dans une sauce très aqueuse avec des oignons pas assez cuits et les barbes non retirées des moules. Les moules étaient bonnes mais le reste était très fade. Les chips étaient ok. Prix raisonnables.
La nourriture moyenne et le service correct ne dérangent pas. Ma salade contenait de nombreux petits coléoptères, vivants et morts, ils n'avaient pas lavé la salade. Grosse déception ! J'en ai compté au moins 5. C'était très inconvenant et je ne l'ai pas mangé. Lorsque le serveur m'a demandé pourquoi je ne l'avais pas terminé et que je lui ai poliment parlé des insectes, il a été impoli et semblait en colère contre moi. Il n'a pas proposé de remplacement ni de compensation sur l'addition.
This restaurant is in a beautiful location in the main square in the heart of Pezenas old town. Service was friendly and attentive, but we had mixed views on the food. My wife and son really enjoyed theirs but I chose the Moules Mariner Maison and Frites which were extremely disappointing. Served in a very watery sauce with undercooked onions, and the beards not removed from the mussels. Mussels tasted okay but the rest was very bland. Chips were okay. Reasonable prices.

C'était notre première nuit à Pézenas et c'était un lundi soir après un week-end de festival, donc le choix était limité. Cela ne doit cependant pas détourner de l'excellence du repas que nous avons apprécié! Les fruits de mer se composaient de 500g de moules, 6 huîtres et 6 crevettes, tous magnifiquement présentés et leur magret de canard était magnifiquement cuisiné et aussi présenté. Bon vin également à la carafe! Cela s'est avéré bien mieux que prévu!
Ideally situated in Place Gambetta in the historic heart of the old town, this is a perfect location for an alfresco lunch or supper. A simple menu, with food generally attractively presented and in generous portions. A carafe of the local wine was a happy...accompaniment to the meal. Service is pleasantly efficient. And for fresh takeaway icecream as dessert, try “Les Glaces de Sophie” next door.
A freshening experience in Pezenas. The young running this place takes perfect care of their customers. Service is quick. Excellent prepared food. We had a „formule“ at lunch time and where surprised with well prepared squid, a nice salad with „couteau“ as a starter and...a mousse au chocolat. Not as expensive as some others but very woth the money spent.
we were in town for a high time. many members of the high-time celebration had a meal in the royal glacier. eating is excellent, service is fast and the young who serve the meals are so very friendly. well worth a visit!

Emplacement fabuleux. Nourriture assez moyenne. Je ne prendrais pas la peine d'y retourner. La nourriture est bonne mais pas exceptionnelle. Le service est moyen, pas impoli, juste pas rapide.
Location is great and food generally satisfactory. My daughter had the spaghetti with pesto and was a little disappointed the pizzas are really very good
