Massive dreary space with no personality or style that feels like an anonymous hospital cafeteria, except that the whole time I could smell cigarettes wafting in from the outdoor smoking area. The Royal hotel has a bistro serving your typical pub options; steaks, burgers, calamari, pizzas and desserts as well as bruschetta and garlic bread. I've been here many times and the food is alright. Tables immediately infront of the bar and food comes fast. Order at the bar. The hotel has a sports bar, pokies, take away and a few bars. What is awesome is the drink menu - $12 cocktails and the mojitos were very nice and very alcoholic. Wines were also a good pour. The crowd is a mix of uni students, older people and some interesting folk in the sports bar.
