Royal Orchard Thai Cuisine

Had dinner on Mother's Day 2017. I have been to this restaurant a couple of times. Food usually good. Service usually good. Not sure what happened on Mothers Day, the service was terrible. The restaurant was not very busy, not full. We ordered food, drinks. It was 15 minutes to get our drinks, 20 minutes to get started which was veg spring rolls. three table around us were the patrons came in after us were served their food before us. We didn't order complicated dishes. Toronto is a very multi-cultural place these days. There are large populations of almost every ethnicity. So it was telling to me that when we went into Royal Orchard Thai it was fairly full, but there were no customers of Asian heritage. The workers are Asian, though, and presumably the cooks are as well. The reason I begin the review this way is because I believe the food reflects this fact. It is a popular restaurant, but not with the Thai community. We found the food to be overwhelmingly sweet--every single dish, and we ordered quite a few, including curries, noodles, vegetables, and appetizers. a good meal, great value, friendly staff. we went for a late dinner, very relaxed atmosphere, food was tasty, freshly cooked vegetables with our chicken dish was a nice treat, nice and crisp and not over cooked, like many dishes in other restaurants. very relaxed atmosphere, not fancy, but f you want a delicious meal at very reasonable prices, this is the place

I wonder if there's a new cook or owner.I've been coming here for years and always enjoyed the food.Something happened this last time.The food was just not good.We threw out the leftovers since we didn't intend on eating them.I hope this is a blip and the food is good again.I'm not sure when I'll be motivated to test it again. Came there for a lunch. Very reasonable prices for such a great size of meal they serve. Food was tasty and fresh! It's very accurate inside, and you fells like in real restaurant. Lots of parking spots at front. In general- no complaints for good food , most likely will visit again !Thanks

Unfortunately Pukhett Paradise has closed so Royal Orchard is our go to for Thai food now, until we find better.Service is not particularly friendly, food is ok but most dishes taste the same and the price is quite high.A restaurant that has found a recipe that works and is sticking to it.

This little neighborhood gem never disappoints. The food is always delicious. The shrimp pad Thai is very tasty and never too spicy. The lemon grass soup is excellent. The service is always good. I would recommend this restaurant.

The food is exceptional. The restaurant is a bit tired but hey it's all about the food. Favorites are green curry chicken, pad Thai and a appetizer combo. Delish

Good for dining in & even better for take out. We live nearby so this is very convenient but we would travel to get here. The mango salad is especially tasty.
