Took a day trip to Schaffhausen; we had plans to eat at another restaurant that had been highly recommended by friends....but by the time I arrived at 2pm they were no longer serving lunch. So....I quickly checked TripAdvisor for a suggestion. Brauerei Falken was nearby...and had good reviews, so off we went. We had fondue and drinks. The fondue was great, but at 24 euros a head, overpriced. So be warned. The restaurant offered a smoke filled room option on the ground floor bar room or a nonsmoking option upstairs in a more fancy setting. We opted for old bar + smoke. It is in the middle of the Old City (Altstadt) of Schaffhausen, so it is a good opportunity to have good food as a lunch break during your visit or shopping in the old city area. Prices are normal compared to Switzerland but around 30 to 40% more expensive compared to Germany. Staff are friendly and so helpful. This restaurant presents different dishes like pasta (with many different sauses,) steaks, Wiener steaks, ... and some special kids dishes like Frites. You can sit outside if the weather is good and also inside if you like.
Convenient location. Smokers are allowed downstairs, but upstairs is non-smoking. Food is of good quality - typical to swiss restaurants (Schnitzel, fried fish, a pasta dish, salad plate, etc.) Service has never impressed me (I'm American) on the several occasions I've been there, but it is ok as far as Swiss service is concerned. Prices mid-range Swiss.
eating is so good; i.e., good bourgeois. we had a lunch menu. instead of suppe we took salat; this was fresh, but the sauce was some finished product. the main course was o.k. (meat, carrots and vegetables), but not straightly tasted. the service is attentive and friendly. the restaurant has a smoker and a separate non-smoking area.

a bit of a decent ambiente with still allowed smoking in the restaurant (smoking-free lounge restaurant on the top floor!.) good floccen beer and simple but good-bourgeois, rich meal times. in summer small attractive hospitality on the gasse.
This restaurant is located in the pedestrian section. We sat outside which was great for people watching. The beer was pretty good and so was the food. You can sit inside downstairs to smoke or in a separate section upstairs for non-smokers.
A very nice setting combined with HUGE helpings of food. I went for the local specialities and never regretted. That was simply delicious. When you add a glass (or two…) of wine… ;)
always a good choice to watch a game with friends. the personal is friendly and fast and there is a great choice of drinks, just at the beer varieties.

great ambiente and stylish furnishings make eating a pleasure. the service is good and friendly. eating is good. the prices are reasonable.
A cozy restaurant with regular local-- something heavier-- kitchen, definitely not bad and with a happy good service.
