This is a great restaurant tucked away by the western side of the church, just across the river. It has ample outdoor seating, in a beautiful setting with tables set into a gardens worth of plants, all resting in the shadows of the church. The beer here is great. I strongly suggest the strong beer and Dunkel. If you get the strong beer it comes in an awesome mug, which you can by for 5 euro. The food is varied, not monster portions, but delicious and well plated. We all ate off each others plates and the venison, pork medallions, and pork shoulder are all great. the restaurant is a bit off but only 100 m from the main square of the city. it is located on a quite small square and offers enough seating outside on the square that is locked for most traffic and offers a few trees for shade. eating is somewhat more expensive than in other restaurants, but the quality, the friendly service (with active participation of the owners) and the environment make this more than bet. whenever I'm in amberg, I'm going there.

in the months where you can dine outside and enjoy the proximity to the city's air museum, I return to this Bavarian restaurant! the food is prepared on order with a selection to satisfy the appetit on fresh fish or meat! if our group of about 10 people is looking for a special event or birthday, we choose this place next to the vils!

super delicious German/Bavarian home cooking, too very pleasant trips. it tastes like at home with mother! the chefin as well as the charm of the house contribute their rest to it.

I ordered a T-bone steak and it showed up charred and burnt. Waitress was nice and attentive and the atmosphere was great. Very pricey for subpar food.
