Good spot for a wheelchair user as it is adjacent to a Transit stop and a train station oh, and also has both surface and underground parking. Unlike many Safeway stores, there is no coffee counter inside, but you can get one across the street at the corner. For those that have difficulty using ATM machines, you can ask for additional cash back on your debit card when you make a purchase. Because of their location in a neighbourhood with many young, single people, they have lots of prepared meals and snack foods. But there is also a good bakery and a deli and a small flower shop as well.
My friend worked here over the summer and had to quit because the working conditions were so bad. Multiple instances of racism and harassment from both staff and customers. No action taken to uphold the health or safety of my friend as an employee. Manager in training wouldn 't listen to my friend 's concerns, took sides instead of looking into things. This reflects very poorly on the company because it goes against their policy to provide a work environment that protects both the physical and psychological well-being of employees, as stated in their code of business conduct/ethics.
Great grocery store! Fresh produce, but what I love here the most is the deli! They always have flights of cheese prepared and ready, trays of 3 kinds of cheese for $11.99 that you van pair with crackers and deli meat for a tasty snack or meal... Yum! The selection of deli meats at the counter is fantastic also, and cheaper than if you buy the deli meat prepackaged. Great place to visit even if just for the deli!
Some of the staff are rude, and the stock changes all the time, which is frusterating. They also built a weird fence in front of their entrance, which makes it feel less safe when people come in to steal things and run out. And as everyone else has stated, they ticket people for parking there and shopping and are incredibly rude about it. Stop trying to make a quick buck on people for something so ridiculous. Store is good but please check your bagged potatoes. There were 2 rotten potatoes in mine and the smell is horrible. Had to wash the rest of them. Next bag of potatoes contained rotten ones it ruined the rest. Could not wash the smell off. Buy your potatoes single so you can see what you're getting.
We went to shop here and asked a question to the customer service desk and they were extremely rude and dismissive. They ignored us when we walked up to the desk and responded in an extremely rude way considering they’re supposed to be provide customer service. Will not ever return here
