We had a quiet lunch at Saffron on a cold, windy Canberra winter afternoon. We bought a Living Social coupon which gave us a taster menu plus a glass of wine. For entree we had Lebanese bread with dips which were delicious and went very well with the warm toasted bread. This was followed by zucchini balls, minced lamb in small pastry case and grilled halumi (spelling?) cheese. I didn't care much for the cheese but the other items were good. The mains consisted of lightly fried meramundi in a sweet chilli sauce, and chicken and lamb skewers on a bed of garden salads and turmeric infused rice. We were in canberra for the weekend and went for a walk around kingston to find a place for dinner. We walked into saffron, the restaurant was buzzing. Although it was busy we were seated down quickly and received great service. There were so many good options on the menu and the waitress recommended the banquet to us which we were very happy with. The grilled mushroom and zucchini fritters were a stand out. The meat was cooked to perfection. This place is real value for money we will be back next time we are canberra.

My partner and I went in there without knowing what to expect. The owner immediately told us how happy he would be to have us eat there and made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was delicious, we had the beetroot sip for starters which was tasty and fresh then followed by two mains. All of which were delicious and flavorful we will definitely be back! Friendly oustanding service and delicious food what more could we ask for.
Excellent service and very friendly and attentive staff! We had the Mezze Banquet and we really enjoyed the entrees. The main course was nice but we were already feeling full and found that the kofte was a little dry and needed sauce. Overall it was a delicious meal and enjoyable experience.
I visited Saffron with relatives when I visited Canberra and had a wonderful evening. The food was delicious and the service was attentive without being stifling. I really enjoyed the vegetarian options and my partner loved the mixed grill.
Great serves the food was cooked to perfection. Stand out was the barramundi in chilli and coriander. One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Will definitely be back.

I ate here one night and thought it was good The restaurant itself was nice, clean and modern and on a weeknight was mostly empty.
Saffron is upscale Mediterranean with an attention to service.
