Saigon Express - Réservation de table

This place is geared to towards college kids. You'll find what you would expect at a Vietnamese restaurant. If you want it your way this isn't the place for you. I wanted to add an item from one sandwich to another and they were not willing to do it even though I wanted to pay for the extra stuff. The price looks like a great deal until you see the portion size. The service was lacking. But I should have known that from the name. They want to push you through like a cafeteria line.

I was feeling kind of sick and really craving some pho and this was the only place near campus, I’m so glad I went! The pho here is really delicious I came back the next day to get more. I’ve never been a big fan of pho but this was game changing. The workers entertained my different questions about the various dishes and checked in with me to make sure I like it. Highly recommend :

The best sandwich in downtown Berkeley! The staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is fantastic. If you have diabetes, Sandwich 1 is an excellent option—it's low in sugar, and the bread is healthier, resembling French bread rather than the sugar-laden American variety.

The food was great and a very reasonable price, especially for Berkeley and especially given the large portion sizes. Also, the experience was awesome thanks to the wonderful service: food came out super fast and fresh, and the owner was extremely nice! Réservez une table maintenant

I experienced food poisoning that was among the worst I've ever had. I ate three veggie spring rolls at 4 PM, and by 2:15 AM to 3:15 AM, I was throwing up four times. I wish I could give this place zero stars.

The people here are so nice, and the service is amazing! The food is super good, and they have some vegetarian options as well, which is rare to find with Vietnamese places. Overall amazing!

I ordered the Claypot with Shrimp, and a few minutes later, it arrived at my table piping hot. The vegetables had a perfectly crisp al dente texture, just the way I prefer.

I had a chicken hotpot and there was two pieces of beef in it and the rice was burnt. It was still good tho

Their spicy chili pho is the best pho. So good, every time. Great prices here too. Very sweet staff.
