We had been hearing about the opening of this tapas bar for some time and were very keen to try it out, as we just love Spanish tapas.On arriving on a Friday night the place was pretty busy and we managed to grab the last few seats at the bar. There was a pleasant buzz in the space, and they had a local DJ setting up to play some music.We borrowed a drinks menu form the people next door and perused the list. There was a reasonable selection of both reds and whites, and happily 1-2 were Spanish wines. I've been here a couple of times now as it's a local for me. It's a nice atmosphere, friendly staff, laid back beachy/maritime decor. The food would have to be the biggest letdown. So overpriced for what you get it's highway robbery. I paid $6 for the chorizo tapas in the attached pic, pictures speak one thousand words. I've had similar experiences with cheese platters and other small tapas plates. Even drinks are seriously inflated but given the positives I first mentioned I'd come back for a social drink with a friend, never again for the food.
Was so excited to see a new spot at Manly to grab a drink a some food. I took my friend there one Monday night and we were the only ones there when we arrived. A waiter brought us a menu and then came back 1 minute later but we explained we needed another 5 minutes. That was the last we saw of the waiter. We tried to get someone's attention but the staff were sitting around the bar. We left after 25 minutes of waiting and had dinner down the road. Dissappointed.
We went for drinks on a Friday night, just 2 of us. Had a bench table opposite each other but even though there were less then 30 people in the place had to yell over each other(we are under 50 and don't have a hearing problem) Would have liked to have tried food but went over the road to get a meal instead. Love top see new businesses but this doesn't work well

Mandy and I were so looking forward to a great night out and we walked away completely disappointing with the Sailor and Walrus - we were charged $34.00 for 2 x Gin and Tonics and 2 x Wines AND $34.00 for a small plate of cheese and biscuits (it really was terrible) - we live 300m from this place and we will not be going back!
If your in the Manly area don't forget to check out this place. Fantastic cocktails and cheese plate. They also do amazing tapas plates. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Great to visit before dinner or to continue your evening with a cocktail after a meal.
Honestly, I really didn't expect to find a place like this in Manly. The tapas were fantastic and the cocktails were sublime. Apart from the Aussie accents in the room, you'd think you were in Barca. I'll be back soon.
Wanted a local down by the water and felt like wine and Tapas. Google found this place so we tried it out. Awesome Tapas, mostly Gluten Free for the Coeliac wife and the wine selection was wide and great names.

Really enjoyed share platter and desert with a glass of wine. Simple and sophisticated. Very good service. Just something different. You will not find this qualify in very many places. Thoroughly enjoyable.
