This is a busy place serving Italian food with a great choice of pasta dishes and pizzas. When it came to the dessert, my wife and daughter couldn't decide what to have so the waiter offered the "special sharing dessert".... What a rip off!!! The price of this dessert alone accounted for nearly 50% of our total bill and what was presented on a square plate drizzled with coulis looked as though it could have easily been left over from someone else's dessert choice. Basically it comprised: one piece of tiramisu (not sure if it was a full sized 'normal' dessert but was supposed to be for three), a slice of kiwi fruit each, a pannacotta cut into three portions (again not sure if it was full size...
Addendum from 02/14/25: I was convinced to visit Sale e Pane for a second time! My meal (Penne con Manzo) was quite successful, the sauce for the pasta was delicious and sufficient. Because we didn 't have a table reservation, we had a time slot of 2 hours, so there was no time for a later dessert. The friendly service really had their hands full on Valentine 's Day yesterday! We visited the restaurant on a busy Saturday evening and stayed for many hours as the drinks and the food was exceptional. Not to mention the owner and the staff who were fantastically warm, helpful and entertaining. To begin with the area is really nice, just some minutes off the subway. We came in and got a cosy table perfect for a romantic dinner with my partner. We got the antipasti, truffle pasta and the fish. Everything was so tasty and we were full but went for the desert anyway and were very satisfied with that too! The owner and the staff took well care of us and of the other guests and we’re definitely going back. Thanks for a fantastic evening!
Angefangen vom Empfang bis hin zur Bedienung und Verabschiedung war alles fantastisch. Das Essen sowie der Trunk waren vorzüglich. Die Kellner waren sehr höflich, aufmerksam und vornehm. Das Ambiente war fantastisch. Alles in allem war es eine sehr positive Erfahrung, die jeder einmal erlebt haben sollte, wenn man in Berlin gut italienisch essen gehen will.

I really enjoy to visit restaurants with cool people. At Sale e Pane the service is very professional and the owner is a really cool dude. Once we were all comfortable we were served some amazing dishes like „pineapple carpaccio“... Everything we ordered from the aperitif to the dessert was amazing and this place is well worth a visit!
I have long been looking for a restaurant with Italian cuisine of this quality. The service is very attentive and the atmosphere is pleasantly friendly and unobtrusive. It fits everything very well together and right there, to this beautiful corner off the castle road. We like to go to eat there.
We went there spontaneously with the whole family (9people). Even if they had been quite booked already the prepared a table for all of us. Had been a bit cozy but it was worth it. Great staff and even better food!! Try the goat cheese as starter. A must...
An unforgettable evening! Relaxed atmosphere, created by a nice appearance of the place, as well as a nice and competent handling of the staff. Super delicious food with excellent wine tasting. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Berlin, if not a must!

The kindness of the staff was just as excellent as the food itself. We had a place on the terrace and felt comfortable and worried. We felt like we were in Italy. We will come back and recommend it in our acquaintance circle.
