As the waiter gave us our menus he asked us to leave a review, so here it is... This is, without exception, THE WORST INDIAN FOOD I HAVE EVER TASTED, and potentially the worst food I've ever eaten at a restaurant. Unfortunately we had arrived in Dorridge to find the well reviewed Chinese restaurant we had intended going to was closed. As options were limited and it was getting late we decided to take a chance on Saleem Bagh, which at the time was virtually empty save for a table for 2 eating in the window. Admittedly several more tables came in after us and we got the impression some were regulars, quite why anyone would patronise here regularly is beyond me! All of the the food was painfull...
Don't pay attention to the overly dramatic 1-star reviews. I have been dining at Saleem Bagh for more than 20 years, and my recent visit, which was my first since the pandemic, reassured me that the restaurant has stayed true to its roots. It is a traditional, dependable Indian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, affordable prices, and delicious food. The service was courteous and quick. After a lackluster meal at a trendy Indian restaurant nearby, Saleem Bagh was a pleasant surprise.
The food at this restaurant was good, but it was served separately because we were a large group. Unfortunately, the staff was not very friendly and seemed quite rude. They would lean over to grab plates before we were finished with them, making it feel rushed. A welcoming atmosphere is crucial for a positive dining experience, and unfortunately, that was lacking here.
The Saleem is our favourite for a curry! We would dine in before lockdown and have had almost a weekly takeaway since and the quality is amazing. Ali and his team are always so friendly and welcoming, they can’t do enough for you :

Haven’t been here for a long while, had forgotten how brilliant this restaurant is! Very welcoming, beautifully presented food. Thoroughly enjoyed by all 6 of us. Definitely be back very soon
I've eaten inside before lockdown and the food was amazing. My recent takeaway was just superb. Great team and high quality food. You cant go wrong, thankyou guys amazing job!
Enjoyed a fantastic collection meal here. Really pleased with the taste and quality of the food. Family really enjoyed their friday night takeaway. I will definitely be back!
