Salty Papa's Shrimp House

04/08/23 dinner. Smaller space than expected but nicely appointed, not a NOLA vibe though. Oysters were fresh and tasty. Alligator bites were overly battered tiny bites with remoulade. No bread (broken oven and no crabs, even though in season. Gumbo was disappointing, no chicken or shrimp and a very few tidbits of sausage, avoid it. Hush puppies were excellent. Asked for a NOLA staple; a combo shrimp/oyster poboy sandwich and was only offered to buy an oyster appetizer to self add to a shrimp poboy (wtf? A $24. Poboy??? Had the grilled scallops (6 and the blackened shrimp and scallop platter along with a good jambalaya. Two margaritas and two beers for $230. Kinda expensive for the quantity/...

What fantastic shrimp ! They make their dressings in house and the ranch is amazing. Our bartender/ server Antonio was absolutely wonderful. Can’t wait to go back and try other entrees. But…. You can’t beat that fried shrimp ! Yum !

Shrimp and fried oysters were the best I ever had. Big fresh and hot Great menu Do not miss 1st time here Gumbo was excellent as well!

You can't get better than this for fresh seafood and reasonable prices and a great waitstaff. It's our go to place east of the river.

The food was great .service was outstanding. The jambalaya was fantastic. Must get the spicy shrimp for appetizer.. all looks great
