This place is off of Whittier Blvd. You can't see it from the main drag, but it's worth a visit. The service is excellent and quick. My friend and I shared an appetizer sampler. It was run of the mill, nothing spectacular, except the marinera sauce was delicious. They brought us garlic bread and some marinated tomatoes to enjoy. The garlic bread was somewhat dry and the tomatoes could have used more vinegar. When our food came I sampled my friend's dish which was shrimp and fettuccini. Nothing spectacular, just basic good food. I ordered risotto. It was a little salty for my taste, but had good flavor and good texture. It would have been nice if it had been served with sausage. Salvatore restaurant has been our family's favorite Italian restaurant for over 25 years. The food is consistently well-made and delicious. I highly recommend this Italian restaurant, although I do wish it was closer to our home.
