Everything started off well, we got a table fairly quickly and the waiter said we could sit inside. However, everything went down hill after this. Firstly, he didn’t even show us to our table, so we had to walk in and grab an empty one,...not knowing whether or not it was ours. Next, we sat down and waited patiently for menus, which took a while. During this time, we saw another table get seated and served before us. Eventually someone noticed us and brought menus over. At this point, we would normally expect for our drinks order to be taken, but it was not. After some time, someone finally took our food and drinks order (at the same time). we visited the park sambucca heaton, 2 adult 3 children (age 5, 5 3) the service and the eating was amazing, our waiter was fabulous with our girls and she loved it as “Princesses are being treated”. they brought the children to eat as soon as it was ready what was great and the portion size was perfect, not too big/small, and all 3 really enjoyed their food. and our food was also delicious, all tasted really fresh and again good portion sizes. the location is perfect and the restaurant facilities have been carefully, we will return 100%.
Visited for a light lunch. Asked for salad and chips. Was served by the manager who seemed put out that we were not ordering a main email. The food arrived. The chips had a long hair wrapped up on them and the salad was rotten.. see picture). I pointed out the salad to a member of staff who got the manager. He didn’t apologies and didn’t take the complaint seriously. He just said ‘ it’s not with it. sorting it out Just pay what you want. He just brushed us off as as inconvenience. I wouldn’t eat there.
i met up with 2 ladies for lunch. They had the bolognaise pasta lunchtime menu and i had the vegitarian pizza. That evening both ladies called me with violent stomach pains, sickness and diarrhoea and as this is the only meal they had eaten together...the cause was fairly obvious. I had very mild stomach upset , nothing like what they encountered. I called the restaurant all that evening and next day, to advise them and nobody bothered to pick up my calls. hence the only forum is trip adviser !

Discovered Sambuca Pavilion during lockdown walks through Jesmond Dene and Heaton Park and was determined to eat there as soon as possible. Had lunch there today with three friends and loved it. Beautiful surroundings we sat outside as it was such a lovely day,...excellent staff really friendly and helpful, an extremely tempting menu and great prices. The presentation of our dishes was really pretty and the taste was fab! Reckon we'll be regulars and I'm spreading the word.
Called in for lunch on the first day of lock-down easing and once again enjoyed great friendly service , fabulous food and all for great value for money. We travel to Newcastle once a year and always call in to Samuca for a meal and...are never disappointed. Thanks to the staff for our take home homemade pate what a lovely touch. Keep up the good work and hope to see you again next year.
I always have a nice experience in sambuca pavilion. I eat at least twice the week with my daughter. eating is exceptionally delicious. the ambiente is wonderful. it is located in heaton park, one of the most beautiful parks in newcastle. I recommend it. a great thank you to sami, chef riad, noufal and hill.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic, the prices are very reasonable, and the service is top-notch. I have been here many times and I have never had a bad experience. The quality of the food is outstanding and the prices for the specials are unbeatable.
