Humble homely place with warm family centred small eatery. Chef Tommy and his sister Pat originally from northern Thailand between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai started up this place with family recipes. The food is absolutely delicious different to the Thai food you'd typically see in Australia. The recipes are fresher less heavy on coconut milk and they've also tailored them to be less spicy. We tried their grilled pork with stir fry noodles which was a nice sweet soy recipe. The pork ribs were lovely in a flavoursome peanut and soy base. We also had a pork curry which was lovely and fresh topped with plenty of basil and coriander.
Popped into this popular neighbourhood restaurant early on a Friday night & were lucky to get a table before the reservations were due to arrive. The smells from the open kitchen were divine so our taste buds were primed for some great flavours. The food did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and delicious, with menu items veering away from the traditional Thai classics to add a little extra spice and variety. We're vegetarians so tried the vegie spring rolls, a tofu dish & a spicy rice noodle dish. Great service, great presentation, lovely decor. Wins all round for anyone lucky enough to get a table at Samgasat.
We made sure we made a booking as we know it gets busy and deservedly so.The menu is great! Very different from most little Thai restaurants.The spring rolls were fresh and crispy, and the prawn toast was thick and very different from the generic type.Our main meals were refreshing with great blend of flavors, and fresh and crispy. We haven't been here for at least six months but love it and highly recommend it.Remember to BYO!
We found the tables and chairs rather uncomfortable. The menu is quite different not your run of the mill Thai, so don't expect things like Penang/Red/Green chicken or beef curry as they are nowhere to be found. We ordered a variety of dishes and were quite underwhelmed by the majority of them. It is BYO which is great if you are prepared for that. We wouldn't rush back.

After being turned down twice as they were too full to take more bookings, we finally managed to get a booking the other day. And i can definitely say it was absolutely worth the wait. The food is super delicious. Not too fancy but nice decor and friendly staff. Loved it and had a great experience. Highly recommended. Will be back again.
We dined here last night and next time would make a reservation as it was packed. Not your usual thai food but presented beautifully and really tasty. Pretty noisy due to the open kitchen and small space. Probably would get take away next time as the food is great but atmosphere a bit hectic.
Unfortunately the crispy fish was unavailable. We had the chicken curry which was outstanding, the crab meat fried rice and a beef stir fry. On the new menu every second dish seems to be pork (but no pork skewers). The dishes that we ordered however were good.
What a great find. Busy. Highly recommend you book. Very popular with the locals as well as visitors. Their menu is fantastic. BYO, not licenced. Loved it. We go regularly as they never disappoint! Highly recommended

The food was good, authentic with multiple GF alternatives. Interesting pictures and artifacts. Its a bit out of the way and has $4/p corkage fees. Informal atmosphere, but good service.
Great Thai restaurant in the 'burbs. Food amazing - baked fish brilliant...but so is everything else on the menu.
