Just back from a trip to Ireland, had a few pints in The Abbey (just down the road , was gonna get a takeaway but decide to eat in. Was not disappointed!! The food was gorgeous...I don't normally have any starter but was so hungry after getting in from the airport. So had sheek kebab, amazing. Then chicken Korma and a garlic naan, amazing!!! Then I had a dessert (which I never do cause I'd be so full!? Anyways had choc ice cream and it was sooo nice, helped cleanse the pallette mmmmm! So glad I went in!

This restaurant serves Indian cuisine with class yet at affordable prices. The menu has a lot of Bengali-oriented dishes; overall it accomodates for vegetarian and other diets, there is a great and interesting selection to choose from and enjoy. Samrat is a great choice, whether it's lunch-for-two or a big group dinner celebration; alcoholic drinks are also on offer in this beautiful old-fashioned setting. On top of it all, the service is great.

a mediocre experience! food we ordered were kheema nan, tandoori roti, huhn tikka and mushroom baji both nan and roti were too dense and tasted more like an afghan brot instead of Indian rotis, I could hardly find a kheema in nan that is disappointing. Chicken tikka was coated like steamed/cooked chicken only in masalas and finished on the pan, which did not lack actual aromen. overall not so great experience.

since the end of the 1980s after samrat. Eating has always been great. although the original owner is no longer there the employees are always polite, helpful and professional and see them whenever they go. in any case recommend.

It's in Canning Town, so a bit away from everything, but if you are around and like indian food: theirs is to die for. Freshly cooked, nicely arranged, tasty. The staff were great, too. Go here if you have the chance to.

a great Indian restaurant the best in the opposed relaxed atmosphere proper bed linen tablecloth serviettes, very attentive service and eating? terrible some dishes that differ from the standard Indian. I love it
