First, I must commend the service—it was exceptional. Our beverages were consistently refilled, we were seated quickly, and the waitstaff was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food was just average. My wife had the fried catfish with sweet potato fries, which were more like sweet potato noodles. The catfish was fried well but lacked any seasoning, as if the breading contained very little flavor. I ordered the grilled catfish with dirty rice and a side of hush puppies. The dirty rice was quite good, though it could have used a bit more spice. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly, but similarly lacked seasoning, with only a hint of salt and pepper. A dash of Cajun spice would have really enha...
We are a Hispanic group that have felt rushed out of there. On at least five occasions in at least 10 visits 3months) by the hispanic waitress and the tall white young waiter. The check is brought to the table mid meal without us asking for it not even near closing time and keep approaching the table asking for any dish thats empty or if all we need is the check. Yet when refills on drinks are needed no waiter is in sight. Priorities and manners should be instilled in these two servers. All other servers provide awesome service.
I had a fantastic experience with the customer service! I visited around 8 PM on a weekday, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was calm and relaxed. The shrimp gumbo was absolutely delicious, but the chicken gumbo had a bit of an off taste, likely because the chicken was overcooked. Everything else I tried was delightful, and I will definitely be returning to sample more dishes from the menu.
The food here is absolutely delicious! I ordered the seafood gumbo three-way combo, which includes catfish, oysters, and shrimp. Every bite is packed with flavor. The customer service is also fantastic; as soon as I sat down, the server greeted me warmly, and the owner came over to introduce himself and ensure that I was well taken care of with food recommendations. Absolutely the best fried shrimp I've ever had! The grilled shrimp was fantastic as well. The fried catfish and steaks were also delicious. Their grilled vegetables were fresh and cooked to perfection. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was both welcoming and delightful.
Hadn't been to this place for years, due to business relations moving away from Cypress. Met for a business lunch recently. Food was delicious and the service most efficient and courteous. I highly recommend this restaurant. My wife and I will add it our list of favorite eateries.
