3 stars is generous for our experience. They are entirely for the grill. The non grill food and service is awful. For example, the Monkey brains shown here is a ton of mayo on uncooked mushroom with fake crab inside. I’m talking about midwestern amountsof Mayo. When the server asked if everything was alright I had brought it up for her to tell me ‘That’s how it is, unlessyou order it with no ‘sauce’. Sushi was not great and had to flag down a different server for ginger since she stoppedchecking in with us after not liking the mushrooms. It's very rare that I get to come to Albuquerque but when I do, I always try and eat at Samurai. I was very disappointed in everything. I brought a first timer to experience the atmosphere of the whole habachi experience and boy it was nothing like howI first experience my first time at Samurai. No tricks from the chief, food was not the greatest. I ordered the New York Steakand shrimp. And both items were both rubbery. It may be awhile before I return to Albuquerque but I think Samurai just lost meas a customer.
I have been going to Samurai for many years now, and while it is not as good as it was in my childhood, it is still a great restaurant. One of the things that makes it so great is the ratio of food quantity to price. So you are easily getting yourmoneys worth for good food, and if you are on the Tappan side you are also getting a show to go with it. I think this is a greatdate spot or a nice place to have an evening with the family.
I’ve eaten here pre and post Covid, so I can say that the food quality is the same every time you get it. It’s great for the price. The sushi rolls always taste fresh, the hibachi chefs always give great service and make everything to ur specifications.Waiters are always fast and helpful, great service all around. It’s not like gourmet or anything, but why would you expectthat from a restaurant in NM? The ocean is like 17 hrs away

I love this place. Favorite place to eat in Albuquerque. I always get the bento boxes: wonderful tempura vegetables and protein (shrimp, mushroom, zuccini, bell pepper, sweet potato) with a dipping sauce, salmon or other protein selection, fried pot stickers, California roll pieces sticky rice. Oh, and off their sushi menu I get the lobo roll: it is a baked roll that has great sauces, cream cheese and baked salmon on top. Yum.
The dinner was so amazing. Very filling with big portions. For the price you pay, we have had leftovers for two days. Totally worth it. Our server was not the nicest but Hector our chef was AMAZING. Tip him big time, hes so funny and makes the whole experience worth it. I would go at a non bust time. We went 3pm on a Saturday with no one there.
Nori is the master of the sushi bar! He is amazing, always nice and explains everything he is making. The food is amazing and always fresh! I have had more than one amazing night there! Go and ask for Nori!

The food and service were very good. The building on the inside needs a complete refresh. They seemed to be short-handed, at least at the chef position.
Service was so great! Our waitress was very nice and thoughtful! They just added ramen to their menu and it was delicious!!
