First time off on Christmas day after 22 years cooking for other people. And I chose this place to enjoy this amazing for me moment. I've been with my two children, and before even walk in, we could feel the warmness of these people. Their smile, their kindness, was all over the place. Me and my friend went out for dinner. The staff let us choose where to sit which was nice of them. The atmosphere was quite chill, not too rowdy and loud. Downstairs part of the restaurant has a cute ceiling decor going on. Some of the staff were nice and friendly but some were quite rude. The food was amazing! I would definitely recommend the penne salmone and the truffle and Parmesan chips. And I would definitely go back again for the food : Toilets were clean and nice hand wash. They are downstairs but there is a disabled toilet upstairs! Menu had pasta, pizza, meats and fish. They have a bit of everything and it all looks amazing!
my daughter and I went to san carlo on New Year's day my daughter had booked a table for it, was very busy when we were there. we were asked if we had booked and we said yes, there were three people in front of us who had not booked and got one table. my daughter and I were sent down and had to wait minutes, then we sat down. the hire of the staff there was not good, the only person that seemed to disturb was the dame that took the money. will be a long time before I went back there, I was appalled.

I love cheese. hard, soft, stinky, mild, **** or goat – I don't discriminate. And now that the winter is officially rolled in, I have no shame to call in every meal after cheese. fortunately, san carlo has my back and rolls out a special menu for cheese – especially grana padano – that will run throughout november.
I'm a regular customer at San Carlos Birmingham. I love the food, atmosphere and service there. I have been served by Mario who provides an outstanding service. Mario's professional friendly and polite service is one of the main things i love in this restaurant. He is very welcoming
Lovely restaurant with tasty, authentic Italian food. The restaurant is split over two floors and offers a wide range of pasta, pizza and risottos. There is even an Italian gin selection.Good service from friendly staff.
Went for a works Christmas party. The food was below par for the price paid. The drinks were also extremely over priced. Many drinks were added to the bill which wasn't asked for. Overall bad experience.
