"This is our 2nd year staying at The Sanctuary. After reading several bad reviews, I was nervous about our rental this year. I honestly expected the worst. However, we walked into a clean, beautifully maintained condo. We were left extra sheets towels for our family of 4. There were fresh rolls of toilet paper paper towels as well as hand soap, dish soap, a few dish detergent laundry detergent pods. The pool was clean had plenty of lounge chairs. We saw maintenance often walking around cleaning taking care of various things. The beach is so clean, beautiful, and not too crowded. We will be back for years to come!"

Awful experience here.Our unit had electrical issues where the lights, AC and kitchen appliances stopped working. We were without power for two days and the property could not resolve the issue. While they were troubleshooting, we were told by management that we could go out to eat and we would be reimbursed. Provided the receipts and after almost a month still have not been reimbursed.After no hope of fixing the electrical issue they told us to leave the property as there were no other units available and the electrical issues were a safety concern. I wish I had read the reviews before I paid nearly 7500 for our condo. We arrived at 7 pm exhausted due to interstate accident. We spent a large amount of time looking for our “ reserved” parking spot. There was only one marked, so, as instructed we parked my sons in an unmarked area in corner.The condo needed a deep cleaning. The beds were made, towels were there, but it wasn’t vacuumed, one toilet was a mess and windows and mirrors had not been cleaned in weeks. Tons of sand and fifth in the hallway. To make matters worse, the towing company was located 30 minutes away from the condos, and there were no accommodations for guests whose cars were towed. Their response was to “call a taxi or Uber.” What about guests from out of town who might not have the money to retrieve their car or to get to the towing location? It was utterly ridiculous! Additionally, if your parking pass falls, they will still tow your car. So if you stay here, be very careful! The cost to get your car back is about $150 or more, and we weren’t the only ones affected; at least three or four other cars were towed as well! This is a significant issue! We stayed at the Bahamas Luxury A304, at the Sanctuary Condos in Sandbridge and it was the furthest thing from luxury . When we arrived, the lock on the front door was so badly damaged, we could not get in with the keys we were given (an indicator of what was to come). Once we received new keys, that only occasionally worked, and entered the condo, we discovered it had not been cleaned. There was used bedding still on the beds, soiled towels in every bathroom, dirty dishes in the dishwasher, sand and hair EVERYWHERE. Horrible! This was the dirtiest vacation rental I have ever stayed in. Every bathroom was filthy dirty, with dried urine on all of the toilets and fecal matter in one of them. The kitchen was filthy dirty, dried food spills all over the counters, refrigerator, stove and floor. The baseboards and floors in the whole unit were very dirty. The walls and doors have visible dirt on them. The balcony was disgusting, the outdoor cushions should have been replace long ago and the nice hammock shown in the picture actually sits in a pool of standing water and is unusable. This penthouse condo is fabulous, but I will never rent through VACASA again!! We booked through Sandbridge Realty before the switchover, because they were always so amazing and the customer service was top notch. We were never notified of the change and found out via text message when informing us that we would not be able to arrive as planned. Our family has been traveling to Sandbridge, VA for many years and this was by far the worst customer service we have experienced including cancelling the 1st night of our stay 24 hours before our Saturday check-in, no notification that our unit was ready on Sunday, missing sheets which left several adults to sleep on couches despite requesting sheet...
We were advised to park either in our designated spot or in an unnumbered spot. However, our assigned spot was a small corner space meant for a compact car, while we drove a pickup truck that simply wouldn’t fit. We opted to park in an empty unmarked space, ensuring our parking permit was clearly displayed on our rearview mirror. The next morning, when we returned to our truck to grab something, it was gone. It was an awful feeling. After numerous calls between Vacasa and the homeowners, we learned that our truck had been towed because it was over the white line. This rating was a tough call to make. The town area is really pleasant and quiet, which is a plus. However, the rooms left a lot to be desired in terms of cleanliness. I expected everything to be much tidier, especially considering the high cleaning fees. There were some spots in the rooms that seemed like they hadn't been dusted in ages, the area under the beds was filthy, and the windows were covered in dead bugs. If you're planning to visit during a busy time, I would advise against bringing a large vehicle, as the parking spaces are quite limited.
