We went to Salotto for my birthday dinner with my daughter, husband, parents and in laws. It was a Saturday night, and absolutely PACKED! I mean you really get to know the people around you as the tables are so close together! The place has a nice feel to it, if only the music was slightly softer so you don't have to shout at each other. My mother didn't hear a word of our conversations the entire night. Now to the food. Had a loverly birthday dinner with friends at Salotto. We arrived early for our 7.30pm booking, and our table was not quite ready, but the staff were well organised and sat us at the bar with drinks in had quickly and effectively. The head waiter kept us up to date and as soon as the table was reset, they had us seated. I only looked at specials menu which was more than ample to provide with a hearty selection for a cold Canberra night. I selected a salt and pepper whitebait as starter, followed by lamb shanks as the main. I just wanted to write about my wonderful experience at Salotto from the organisation of the function to the very end.Our function was to thank staff, so we started with pre dinner drinks in the bar section before dinner, the staff were so attentive that everyone felt well looked after! We then moved into the dinning room where we feasted on a banquet especially designed for our function, thanks to the help of the function manager when I made the booking.the meals were huge and delicious we all were completely satisfied not one person left hungry! and the atmosphere was electric in there, so vibrant and happy, I will be back there again, with my family and friends! Went to the restaurant with my family. The place was packed, for us a good sign of people know where to eat. The staff were very nice and polite, always laughing n ready to assist us with the menu and drinks. One of the staff have a impressive knowledment about the food and the preparation, specially if you have a food diet requeriment.We had a mix of everything from the menu from pizza,pasta, steak and specials.None of my guest have nothing bad to say, really tasty food, also deserts. The choc lasagna it's just a dream. The place were a bit loud but it's Saturday night :) I definitely will come back for more. Thanks all the staff for the night.
Went for dinner on a Friday night, I did not make a booking but that wasn't a problem for the staff. Our table was arranged for us in a few minutes. The atmosphere warm and welcoming.The service was quick and friendly. I really appreciated how attentive the staff were with my children. My wife and I had the Parmegiana and the Saltimboca, they were both beautiful and full of flavour. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and we intend to come back next time we are down in Canberra.
Went on a Saturday night with a few friends. No booking, but a table were arrange for us without a problem.The service was quick and efficient, nice cold beer and cocktails. We had a mix of pizzas, pasta and meat, the pizza was delicious, the puttanesca spicy and traditional like I had in Italy years ago, and the chicken cognac was the "cherry on top of the cake".To all floor staff and kitchen staff from Salotto thanks to make our night so good and enjoyable. definitely will come back.
We had a 6.30 booking so maybe ran into lots of children but this spacious restaurant was so noisy on arrival.In fact we moved to an outside table which was quiet and nicely heated on a cold night.The food was quite excellent but our meals took for ages to come out.Excuse was a busy night.So perhaps try and visit on a quiet night

The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. We would highly recommend this restaurant. We tried a variety of dishes including gnocchi, pasta, spatchcock chicken and salad and all were delicious.
I went to this restaurant with family last night. It was sooo noisy inside with kids playing and screaming and music we had to move outside. Food came out very slow but service was good. Food good.
