I have been here three times prior and an additional time with the family. Things are usually great and the service good. This time one of the drinks we got was off. I think it was probably made correctly, but one of the mixers (juice) had turned a little. We asked for it to be remade asked them to check the pineapple or orange juices. Our server was very nice but came back saying they could not take the drink back or give a refund. We hadn't asked for a refund, just that the drink be remade and ingredients check. Somehow I haven't done a review for Sapporo but this is a top 10 restaurant in Louisville for me and has been for years. Good cocktails (the Lychee Martini is excellent). For starters or to share: gyoza, garlic butter edamame, calamari, and combo fried rice are all fantastic. The hibachi is good but also relatively equivalent to several areas in town. Where Sapporo shines the most is the sushi. Spider roll, rainbow roll, AKA, crunch munch, Bardstown, big mouth, new Orleans, fire dragon, no name, redbull... The list goes on. Met the owner of the restaurant in regards to an appetizer that we did not want. We specified the appetizer we wanted. She told us she couldn't yake it back since it was already prepared Regardless if they gave us the wrong one or not, then rolled her eyes in the back of her head . Very rude. So we reordered the appetite that we wanted and she took away the Appetizer that we did not order and still charged us for it. I felt like if she was gonna still charge us for it.She should have just left it on the table and we could have gave it someone at home. Her actions put a bad taste in my mouth and because of that I will not be visiting anymore.
Couldn’t speak higher of our experience here! Sushi was DELICIOUS (we got the Foxy Lady the No Name), prices were reasonable, service was impeccable and ambience was great. Our server gave great recommendations and we got 2 specialty sushi rolls and 2 drinks for under $50! We’ve heard from friends that sitting at the sushi bar is super fun, so we absolutely plan on coming back to experience that. This may be our new favorite sushi spot in town!

The place was loud, and we couldn't hear our server. I got yakisoba, I'm not a big yakisoba fan, but imo there were too many veggies. My s/o got tempura; it was really good. The calamari was exceptional! Overall, I had a great time.
I did my 58 birthday here tonite. Shout out to Jacqueline she is an AMAZING host. As usual food was excellent. I got the top secret sushi roll it is my favorite and a must try if u like spicy and lots of flavor.
Chef had no idea how to cook fried rice, no flavor, egg was still raw! Asked for lobster and got shrimp! Steak couldn’t be chewed. Service was terrible.
One of my favorite restaurants for sushi. I got the Top Secret and it was good.

Sapporo never disappoints. Especially their happy hour sushi daily.
