Satay On The Road used to be a spot where we enjoyed going to and getting take out from but in recent time it has gone down hill. Where do I start? Take out was suppose to be picked up in 30 minutes but when we arrived and were told it would be 5-10 minutes more and then continued to be 5-10 minutes for the next half an hour. I understand restaurants can become backed up but give your clients the respect to provide a realistic timeframe. The disappointment continued with the food being bland and the noodles dishes were over cooked. Yesterday, I Ordered the eggplant snd tofu in red curry, and chicken in red curry as well as Manchurian chicken. We enjoyed them all. I repeated the tofu curry today. New go to restaurant for me.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. For yrs I have enjoyed the eggplant and tofu red curry with string beans. I order medium spicy.Dietary restrictions: Lots of vegetarian options. They can do nut free meals.
I have been a loyal customer for many years, but tonight will be my last visit. The quality of the food has declined significantly. The chicken is unpalatable, the sauces are overly thick and salty, the noodles are mushy, and anything fried tastes of old oil. It is disappointing to see this decline, as this restaurant has been my go-to for Thai food and a place where my family celebrated many special occasions.
I wanted to thank the gentleman I spoke to on the phone who took care of our order and addressed our gluten-free questions. He guided us to the right choices and was able to modify some of the dishes. The food was so delicious, our guests were very appreciative. Thank you so much! The food was not good. Pad Thai was a big pile of mushy noodles, way overcooked. manager was good about it and offered to replace. We got the spicy noodles instead which was very oily and lacked flavour. The peanut curry was good. Service was very quick though the place was empty on a Saturday evening, that should have been the first red flag). Not authentic Thai and not good.
Stopped in while taking the dog for a walk up Avenue. The Crispy beef and sweet sour soup was excellent and so was the service. Jonathon hooked my dog up with a water bowl (ate on the patio of course) and even a little beeper thing in case I needed immediate service. I dodnt need it though. Lunch was quick, delicious, and super value. Under $20 for two courses and a drink!
