Saybrook Fish House

While in Canton, the five of us were pretty hungry. We stopped at the Saybrook Fish House for a dinner. If it's not obvious by the name, on what type of food they specialize in here, it'll be obvious as soon as you step inside, this place is fully decorated with fish everywhere. Unfortunately some of the fish that's on the walls, you wouldn't find in the menu. I started with the Chowder, we got a serving of escargot to share. I'm not a fan, so I didn't have any. The Chowder was very good, it was creamy, and rich, truly tasty and filling on a cold February evening. At the Saybrook Fish House, they offer complimentary rolls and butter, and a very large salad. This salad was very fresh and delicious. I didn't know we would be getting it, keep in mind when making your selection. I got the crab cake sandwich. Others in my party got the scallops and the cod. My crab cake was very tender and flavorful. It came with fries and pickles on the side. It was too much for me, I had to take some home for the next day. Overall, we had a very pleasant dining experience at The Saybrook Fish House. If you're into sea food I'd encourage you to stop by, and if you're not they also have other options.

Recently came here with a group of friends for dinner and it was excellent. This was my third evening at SFH and I can report that every meal has been consistently delicious. You have not lived until you have had their creamy homemade dressing or their signature seafood stuffing (which is incorporated in many dishes). Tonight I had the Mahi Mahi special with mango salsa over mashed sweet potatoes and it was fantastic. Hardly had room for dessert, but the chocolate mousse cake was irresistible. The servers are friendly and the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. We had a warm fireplace right behind our table. The bar area is cool too will have to stop back for another round of wine and mussels! Moral of the story: if you are craving fresh seafood, this is your winner.

Good food in the area -the best anyone can find and that does not mean it is not good. Service is very good a lot depends on the server however they do train their severs because all do mostly the same thing and each do it with the same great flair. I would recommend Saybrook Fish House it is a great place for fish and the service is great too !

Best restaurant in the city of Canton, Ct. The waiting staff is excellent and the food is from this world. Make a point to stop, you won't regret it a bit.

This place is great. I had the Captain Plate. That's the best fishfield I was.
