the schäfli is located in a typical appenzeller house and radiates from outside warmth.The interior is also very tasteful and underlines the first impression. The schäfli offers various theme nights. the program can be found in the website.The compilation of the menus is always great and leaves no wish open.The processed products are selected from the opposite and carefully. the dishes are very tasty and at a very high level.The wine cellar offers some treasures so that the evenings can be very well “rounded off”.The friendly and societal nature of the owners ultimately helps me to see the frenzy of one of the favorite places around St. Gallen and I always like to look over again.
we have already visited the assault some paintings for the metzgete, as well this year and it was as always a happy affair. the schäfli is a typical beiz, simple but somehow stylish and suitable for the appenzellerland. the couple zwick offers a very personal and friendly service, it in the kitchen and it in the gastronomy. the bloodworst was excellent, also applies to the leberwurst and the bratwurst. the one velvet was perhaps a bit too long on the grill, the rösti crisp and the herb well seasoned. the wine card offers everyone something and the hospitality is simply super. reservation recommended. Too bad it's a little far away.
My husband and I often eat at this restaurant--we live in the area. The food is imaginative and delicious and the wine list is lengthy and diverse. The location is a very tastefully decorated traditional Appenzeller house. The dining room is small and intimate and there is a lovely terrace out back for the summer months. The restaurant is open once a month, but apparently takes group reservations at any time. The owners are very friendly and welcoming. There are so many things on the menu that I like that it's hard to make a recommendation, but I would say that my absolute favorite things are the lamb and venison dishes.
