We've lived in Herford for over years. Have traveled far and wide, but haven't found a simple roasted chicken any better. You buy them in half a chicken. Schalk's has other stuff, like the typical curry-ketchup bratwurst, but you can get those anywhere. The...chicken is what shines. At busy times be prepared to wait a while, and if you manage to get a table (the majority of their business is take-away) don't be surprised if you come out smelling like a roast chicken! Having spent a week in Germany we were setting off back to the ferry but needed a final taste of Germany, and nothing says that better than Shalk in Herford. It offers a range of takeaway food from the classic bratwurst through to snitzels or...even roast chicken. Takeaway or sit in in the small restaurant either way you won't be disappointed. I is an essential part of my German experience.

Schalk sur la Mindener Str est probablement la meilleure maison de currywurstbratwurst en Allemagne. Les autres repas comprennent des hamburgers, des poulets rôtis et bien sûr des chips allemandes. Le service est rapide, les prix sont raisonnables et la file d'attente est toujours hors de la porte. Tu serais un idiot de passer devant et de ne pas t'arrêter

schalk on the minener str is possibly the best currywurst/bratwurst house in Germany. further meals include hamburger, roast chicken and, of course, German chips. the service is fast, the prices are reasonable and the wait is always out of the door.
