Great experience. The staff was very helpful and the food and room was A1. I was in a very bad situation when my van died while I moved from Britain to Eastern Europe. My insurance didn't want to help so I had the unfortunate time to organize hotel and replacement van himself. I finally introduced a hotel at 01:00 and expected it to be closed and locked, but the very friendly receptionist left a key for me, although id did not officially book via a website, only a verbal confirmation via the phone. You don't get this kind of service today many places. The surrounding landscape is great and I hope to explore back to Zeillern for a day.
We had a business lunch at the restaurant in this 'castle'... The cuisine is Austrian, nothing to say about that, the menu is quite clear about it. We were practically the only customers and were encouraged to have some of this and maybe more of that on top of our order. The curry / apple soup tasted mainly of cocos-milk, the horseradish sauce with my tafelspitz (boiled beef) was non-existent and the beef was not tender as I would expect from, indeed, boiled beef... Service was good, food was average, the bill democratic, however, I would not recommend the location unless you do have any way out (as was my case).

I visited it for a workshop that was irganized there and stayed 5 nights. Booking was easy and they were helpful to give instructions from the translation. The facilities were very clean, the service excellent and the atmosphere rural rustic. The kitchen was what to expect for a buffet catering to 60 people. My only complaint is that the pillows where so soft, it was like bed linen filled with air.
