If you stay at the SchlossHotel and eat elsewhere you are short changing yourself! I had read a couple of reviews that indicated the meals were expensive. Not True! The Dining Room is beautiful and is accurately portrayed on their website. What the pictures cannot portray is the ambience and quality of the meals. The menu is fairly short, but we did not find a meal that was less than absolutely outstanding. At the end of our 3 week trip through Germany we had four of the best meals here. Das Restaurant der gehobenen Klasse, Schlosscafé, mit geschmackvoller Ambiente und schöner Terrasse, befindet sich unterhalb der Burg Namstein in Landstuhl. Das Personal war stets freundlich. Die Speisen, wir hatten eine Salatplatte Schlosshotel für 9,50,- Eu. eine Schweinelende in Champignonrahmsauce mit Beilagensalat vom Buffet für 14,- Eu. und ein Steak vom norwegischem Lacks in Sesamkruste für 15,- Eu. war sehr lecker und frisch zubereitet, ein dankeschön an die Küche! Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis für das Essen und die Getränke ist sehr gut. Sehr gerne empfehlen das Restaurant weiter.
Wenn vier Personen an einem Tisch zum sonntäglichen Familienessen vier verschiedene Speisen bestellen und ALLE enttäuscht sind - dann stimmt etwas nicht! Die Qualität! Unterdurchschnittliche Fleischqualität, lustlos hergerichtete Teller, Beilagen ohne Geschmack. Da hilft auch der sehr schöne Freisitz nicht, dass der Gast erneut erscheint. Preis und Leistung stehen da in keinem Verhältnis. Und wenn sich dann noch eine Fliege in der lauwarmen Suppe findet, welche dann trotz Rückgabe berechnet wird, setzt das allem noch die Krone auf...Nie wieder!
I had lunch at the restaurant of the Schloss hotel with a friend and her 2 children. The food was excellent! We had the schnitzel with mushroom sauce and the spaetzel and both tasted fabulous! It is in a beautiful location and building situated right below the Nanstein castle ruins. The only negative was that the service was slow. We sat outside and our waitress didn't seem happy to have to walk the extra distance to serve us.

This restaurant is located below the local castle. The dining room is round and has floor to ceiling windows with a great view of the garden. They also have outdoor seating. They have German cuisine; my husband and I really enjoy the fish. The salad bar has a good selection of grilled vegetables which I have not seen anywhere else in this area. They have a good selection of wines as well.
Ate here almost every evening while staying at the hotel on business and was never disappointed. Daily specials add additional variety to the menu. Portions are quite large - I generally have a large appetite but had difficulty finishing all courses of daily specials - couldn't stop though because it tasted too good :)

La carte n'est pas très importante, mais elle propose des plats agréables. (2 plats de poissons et 5où § plats de viandes. Le cadre est agréable, une salle ronde autour d'une fausse cheminée qui n'est pas toujours en fonction. Le personnel est très gentil et le service est efficasse et souriant.

The restaurant has a good menu where you can choose between more traditional german and other types of food. Good quality, and also the hotel bar has a good choice of wines.
I typically do not eat in while staying at the hotel. The meals are good, but a little pricy. The dining area is nicely decorated and the wine list is excellent.
