We only stopped one night in Basel and strolled into the pedestrian area of the old town to find a place to eat. It was late and we were hungry. Schnabel had a good menu and pleasant seating outdoors, so we only have pot luck. We were not disappointed at all. A charming waiter made us welcome. We chose a protected outdoor table in the side passage, although there is also a very attractive traditionally decorated dining room. We had only two main courses plus salads and a few drinks: spits, grilled salmon with asparagus (in season) local beer. The food was delicious, generous and beautiful. The location was quiet and attractive. Prices were average for Switzerland, which is expensive! But we enjoyed our meal, the quiet location and the friendly and very efficient service very much. Ä riese Lob an die liebe guete Servicelyyt im Schnabel.Und zu guter letscht muess me au no das Beizerpäärli Isa & Ismael loooobe wie Sie die Beiz fiere isch eifach GRANDIOS.
Vor einigen Tagen Businesslunch eingenommen. Bin seit sicher 10 Jahren einmal im Monat zum Mittagessen im Lokal. Die Qualität und Sorgsamkeit hat in den letzten 3 Jahren kontinuierlich abgenommen. Der "Renner" des Hauses, die falschen Schnecken und vor allem die Saucen sind nicht mehr so top wie auch schon. Nicht einmal, seit einigen Besuchen nicht mehr. Originalität in der Auswahl der Mittagsmenuekarte ist verflogen. Bedienung wie immer aufmerksam und amüsant.
