Stayed for 3 O/N.Arrived at a date when the Restaurant was closed but had arranged for the key code.First Impression was that the place had to be run by an elderly couple as the stairs and hallways where overstuffed with little tables and fake flowers.The room was large,compfy.Bathroom was only stocked with towels and paper,no handsoap nor Kleenex. I was to have Wi-Fi but no password was given.Next morning I had to search for Breakfast-Buffet and finally found it in a backroom,then had to carry it to the Restaurant where seating was.Found it strange!The Restaurant itself was a lovely,bright room-the opposite from the overstuffed Hotel.The server gave me the password for Wi-Fi but I got no co...
We had a very dissappointing experience at Schaefer in Triberg. Allthough there was still Schwarzwaldtorte in their counter they pointed out that it was reservated. This after we were allready over 5 minutes seated and we passed the counter and the staff when entering. This made us stop at this address on our way back to Titisee. We were attracted by a big banner pointing to a terrace with a view. As it was still quite cool we sat inside. The tables next to the window where reserved or taken. But on the other side of the room you still have some view in this clear veranda-type terrace. Even though the floor tilts down. we have been more often in this hoard. the speissen are fresh and very good. the prices are moderate. the service was always perfect udn very friendly. little bites up to a whole menu, everyone will find something here.But we will nciht more go, because in the high season we wanted to go to dinner at 19:30 and at the time of the restaurant was already wrinkled with the comment: "the kitchen does not accept any more orders". What is this supposed to be? especially because it is advertised that until 22:00 warm kitchen would be present. Too bad, you lose your favourite, but maybe before you call if you can eat there or the kitchen no longer accept orders.
We were there two times and both stays were enjoyed. The furniture is not worn out, no dark restaurant and a big terrace on the south side. The staff is friendly and wel organized. The menu shows international things, but also some local dishes like fladlesoup, kasspatzle and schaufele (etc.).There are also daily specials on the board. The meals are nice, good portions, plates are prewarmed and the prices are ok.The have also Black Forest beer (Rothaus) what is currently not usual.The inn is located directly at the street between Furtwangen and Schonwald.And for shure, next time again. Wir waren schon mehrfach im Löwen. Die Speissekarte ist bodenständig, das Essen frisch zubereitet und schmeckt immer sehr gut. Sonderwünsche werden gerne erfüllt. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Ob nun für einen Snack oder ein komplettes Essen, hier findet man immer was
Wir hatten eine kleine Familien Feier und haben hier zu Mittag gegessen. Es war alles sehr frisch und gut zubereitet. Es hat auch den Kindern sehr gut geschmeckt. Wir hatten Rinderfilet aus der Region. Dies war perfekt zubereitet. Wir kommen gerne mal wieder auf der Durchreise vorbei.
