Scoops is a cozy little shop that features three different types of lighting fixtures, a wide array of Homemade Artisan and Non-Artisan flavors, and plenty of sugar and waffle cones to delight the child in all of us. During our visit, there were three staff members working in the store, each slightly overwhelmed by the busy atmosphere. Despite the rush, they handled everything remarkably well, offering samples to those who asked and greeting every customer in line with wide, genuine smiles.
After a hearty meal, I opted for the mini cone priced at $3.30, which was the perfect portion of ice cream—a generous scoop of Cappuccino Crisp. I appreciated that the base, a cappuccino ice cream, wasn’t overly sweet, making it a lighter dessert. However, I felt that a bolder coffee flavor would enhance the experience, as the chocolate fudge swirled throughout tended to overpower the ice cream. I also enjoyed the crunchy bits mixed in, which provided a nice textural contrast.
I was not expecting much from this place, maybe it was the small size. However, the best ice cream I had in Canada (I only hit about 4 places though-still can compete with any US ice cream joint of which I have tried tens if not hundreds).
