I visited this restaurant for the first time on Saturday, June 3, 2017 along with my brother and his wife, and a close friend. We were there to thank our friend for her exceptional kindness during a difficult family time. My brother and sister-in-law had visited Scopa many times and had really enjoyed the food and experience. Sadly, our experience went from one disappointment to another. Among a long list of shortcomings, our waiter had nothing positive to say about the food--"doesn't look that good", "wouldn't recommend it", "yeah, I guess you can can get a bottle of Prosecco", etc. etc.. He managed to overflow the Prosecco as he was pouring it and never returned to clean up. The wine was w...

This was my second time at Scopa and it was such a disappointment compared to the previous Boccavino restaurant. The food was mediocre (linguine sauce was watery, salad had bruised pears and barely any dressing, main entrees were lukewarm, coffee was cold) and the service was poor. Our waitress, Megan Z., brought out the wrong drink and then ordered the wrong veal. We didn't correct the veal order because we already waited far too long for the main entrees to come. Her hair was so long and tied in such a way that it draped forwards over her shoulders. It brushed over my food and dipped into a water glass as she leaned over. As she was collecting our plates, we had already shuffled them over...
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, so he surprised me by choosing a restaurant we had not been to before. Because the decor is "scooter" themed, I assumed that is what Scopa meant in Italian, but no - it is apparently a card game, according to our enthusiastic and attentive waitress. I have never ordered spaghetti carbonara in a restaurant before, but could not resist the inclusion of wild boar bacon, and I was not disappointed! Beautifully seasoned, perfectly creamy with al dente pasta, and a generous portion paired with a great garnacha (Altovinium) made for a wonderful celebratory meal. The only slightly negative point was that my husbands tagliatelle was actually fettucci...
We have been to Scopa on a number of occasions and have enjoyed many of their dishes for lunch or appetizers on the patio in the afternoon. Portions are large so today my spouse and I shared the Lina's porcetta sandwich and a Caesar salad. Before you have your entrée you are given water with lemon and ice ...and some bread with balsalmic and olive oil...nice touch. Also had some prosecco and sangria. Too full to have a dessert today but in the past we have tried several of them and would recommend trying them. Our favourite entrees are the burgers, steak sandwich and the trout and have also enjoyed the bruschetta, arancini and veal polpettes (meatballs). Have to try the pizza one of these da... We went to Scopa for a night out last Saturday. It was a hot day and first thing we noticed when we sat down was that there was no air conditioning. It was a hot day so that made for a rather toasty evening. Our server left a lot to be desired as she clearly hadn't been trained and made a lot of faux pas throughout the night such as plunking the bread down on the plate on top of the napkin that hadn't been removed, giving some guests clean cutlery while leaving others with dirty. Was rather strange. Aside from that the menu was reasonably priced and the food was really good so will probably overlook the lack of ac and poorly trained staff and return again.
We had a late lunch at Scopa on a Tuesday during Stampede week. The place was very quiet and is was pleasant to have the patio all to ourselves. The service was attentive, although I don't remember the waitresses name. We had bruschetta to share, 2 salads with shrimp, which were sizable for its price and 2 risottos. The risotto was extremely filling. The consistency was a bit on the runny side but the taste was superb. For dessert we shared a set of cannoli. The whipped nutella ricotta is sinful and melted in your mouth like ice. It was my first time at Scopa and overall the restaurant did not disappoint. We had a very good experience.
This was second time we went to Scopa for team dinner. We had a good time last time but this time was bit different. It was a hot day and we didn't feel any air-conditioning inside to cool us down. On top of that, we're near the kitchen. One of my friend is vegan but he was served Pizza topped with spicy sausages !!! Fortunately,He reconfirmed and his order was replaced. I was served a drink which I didn't order. But, I'll overlook these mistakes due to tasty food. Price is reasonable.I guess,I'll return again and hope they'll do better.
During my first visit to Scopa, my family and I found the food to be enjoyable. The service was good, however, my soup was lukewarm. The steak, on the other hand, was cooked perfectly. Despite this, I found the price to be a bit high for the portion size. My plate consisted only of the steak and a small piece of bread, which was disappointing. I would have expected more for the price, perhaps including the soup as part of the meal. Overall, it felt more like a bar item, such as a special steak sandwich, rather than a full meal. We enjoyed our first visit to Scopa a few months ago so we came back to celebrate a family event. 8 of us were greeted by the amazing staff and so began a fantastic evening. The food was perfect. The atmosphere was bustling, relaxing and fun. It is the staff that really make the difference though. Megan was very busy but we were never left waiting or in need of anything. We had a wonderful conversation with her that wove its way through the delicious meal and perfect evening. Thank you to Megan and the team at Scopa!!
So I can't prove for certain that the food here made me ill. I will just say that what I was served , green salad, swamped in dressing with deep (maybe pan) fried shrimp was a disappointment. My wife, who was not ill afterwords felt much the same. On the positive side, it is child friendly and has a wide selection.Oh, and there's a large picture of Alberto Ascari on the wall. That was worth seeing.
