Visited here whilst on a short visit to Banchory. We had a look around in the afternoon and decided to eat there in the evening. I 'm glad we called to book for a table as it was reasonably busy with very few empty tables. The restaurant is to the back of the building through the nice looking bar. We were quickly shown to our table and orders taken. They had a guest ale on which was very nice. Black Sheep Breweries Proper Job . I had the black pudding fritters to start followed by the chicken curry. My wife had the macaroni followed by banoffee tart. Good portions, well cooked and tasty. Good solid pub food. All staff very friendly.

Our experience with Scott Skinners has come to an end. My family and I have been loyal patrons for years, but after encountering the shocking attitude of the host, a woman with blond hair, we have decided to find a new place for our family meals. Despite our long-standing support, she showed no loyalty to customers and failed to apologize for mistakes or serving cold food. It is clear that she lacks customer relations skills, empathy, and basic manners. It is unfortunate, but it is time for us to move on and find a new restaurant. It is evident that she is not suited to work in a public-facing role.
Our review certainly differs from previous reviews, may be because place filled up soon after we arrived! Staff were pleasant, but not overly friendly. Chicken curry was basically chicken in a sauce…..certainly not tasting like a curry should; the chicken in the Chicken Maryland was over cooked, and together with the chips, banana and pineapple it was all fried, accompanying salad was limp and overly tasted of onions (presumably made up and left). Previous reviews says dog friendly but there is a notice on the door stating no dogs allowed. Often in the area but won’t be hurrying back.
For our last day in Scotland we decided to go for a Sunday roast ,we looked at reviews of eateries in banchory and went to Scott Skinner's restaurant , a lovely setting and a big choice of menu , I decided not to have the roast because haggis was on the menu, there was 4 haggis bon bons with Drambuie sauce with chips and vegetables ,it was lovely, the rest of my family had roast beef, it was a large roast with plenty of beef and vegetables and Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes, the meal was delicious and would recommend this restaurant Réservez une table maintenant
My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant, as it was recommended by the hotel where we were staying. Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but I did have a few issues. When I brought them to the attention of the owner, a woman with blonde hair, she did not handle it very professionally. However, she did end up giving us a discount on our bill. In hindsight, we probably wouldn't return to this restaurant because of this interaction. I do want to mention that the waitresses were wonderful and we had no complaints about them.
Stopped here for lunch while driving from Dunnottar Castle to Balmoral Castle, and glad we picked it. The main courses were good (especially the steak pie), the service was excellent, and the desserts were spot on! Would recommend for for lunch.
We had a lovely meal, choice amazing, reasonably priced, value for money and portions wow. Would certainly recommend this place to eat our waitress was attentive, helpful and friendly. We struggled to fault this meal. Certainly be back.
We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday with a party of 25 people at this restaurant. The food was excellent and the service from the waitstaff was exceptional. We will definitely be returning soon. Réservez une table maintenant
Came here after Dunnotter Castle. Glad we did! Food was delicious and the dessert was even better! Some of the best toffee pudding I've had. The bartender was great too!
