Scottish Steakhouse At Macdonald Spey Valley Resort

The worst meal I have ever had (aged 55). Mussels to start were dried out and tasteless, the broth, was just hot water. Main course of seafood stew managed to be both dried out and water flooded. The waiting staff were apologetic but seemed exhausted by complaints. A total failure of management and kitchen. Please avoid

Got there and chefs hadn’t turned up. No voicemail or message from restaurant. Really disappointed. Organised another meal for us at other hotel 10 mins drive away which isn’t helpful when you want to have a drink and are staying beside the steakhouse.

the restaurant had several dishes that were not available due to lack of supply, but at least the server told us that immediately. we were still able to choose something and eat that we had was very good.

had a good meal. steak was delicious. others on the party had chickens, which was also delicious. desserts were very delicious. all happy service was slow by some other local to area standards.

We haven’t been to the restaurant for a number of years and our visit tonight reminded us how good the food here actually is. Great food and service with a smile!
