Even though I no longer live near Chicago, I always make a point to visit Scratch whenever I can, and I can’t resist ordering the Greek to Me lamb burger. It’s incredibly flavorful and tender, practically melting in your mouth. The fries—whether loaded or plain—are outstanding, perfectly capturing the essence of Chicago-style fries, made from fresh, delicious (and slightly greasy) potatoes. I also brought home some mac and cheese, which felt like it weighed five pounds! Thanks to excellent recommendations from the server and bartender, we always discover a new beer to try. The service here is consistently excellent, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.
The beef patty had a very unpleasant taste that I couldn’t quite identify—maybe the meat was old. I agree with another reviewer who pointed out that the mac and cheese tasted like it was straight out of a can. The chicken tenders had an odd smell, reminiscent of fish, and my son wouldn’t even take a bite. The drinks were reasonably priced at $3, but unfortunately, the soda was flat.
I really don’t understand how such basic dishes can go so wrong, but sadly, I won’t be returning.
I enjoyed an amazing burger, while my date opted for the mac and cheese, which was a bit too cheesy for my liking—it was quite overwhelming when I tried it. The restaurant was very clean, and the staff were remarkably friendly. They also offered a fantastic range of menu options and a nice selection of drinks. I would definitely return.
We visited this restaurant several times hoping to see some improvement, but unfortunately, the chicken sandwich fell short of our expectations for being juicy and tender. On the other hand, the burger was quite satisfactory.

I really enjoy ordering from this restaurant, especially their salads. I would give them a five-star rating, but they've messed up my order a couple of times. However, the food is exceptionally delicious!
I didn’t get a chance to dine there because they were closed. I knew they don’t serve breakfast, and it was obvious the kitchen hadn’t started preparing food yet.
Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, their menu and service remained outstanding!
Burgers are very tasty. Good friendly service.
