So today we decided to visit Seafood Hotpot Buffet at Sunnybank and I'm really pleased that we did. It was great!!<br/ <br/ Upon arriving for our reservation (I don't think you'd need one but we didn't want to miss out) we were seated in a great table close to the food but not on top of it. The server asked if we'd had hotpot before (we had) so she just gave us the soup sheet to pick what we'd like.<br/ <br/ The soup prices are clearly marked and there is a decent variety. I chose mushroom chicken broth and my husband had the spicy butter. As we walked out of the Hoyts Cinemas at Sunnybank Plaza we were both thinking about dinner. My friend P suggests Cafe Mi which is 5 metres in front of us. I disagree and explained that my last meal there was only passable. I remind P that we have the night off so we should enjoy a slow cooked meal at the Seafood Hot Pot Buffet across the road at Sunny Park. <br/ <br/ The waitresses here are very enthusiastic. They say hot food taste better in summer. I tried this place on a hot and humid night and it was so worth it. <br/ <br/ An all-you-can-eat seafood hot pot buffet where the ingredients are self serviced and in these nice little containers. Whoever thought of this system is a genius. Rather having a pile of food on a plate, you can just stack these containers up without worrying about food sliding off. I wanted to build the highest tower but the staff was so attentive that they would take away the empty ones.<br/ I recommend choosing the chicken soup and adding sauces to it. I recently revisited this restaurant after over three and a half years and noticed some changes in management. The restaurant was not as busy as before, but the food selection remained the same. The variety of food and drinks, including raw seafood, well-prepared dishes, and traditional Chinese drinks and desserts, made it hard for us to decide what to order. The extra charge for the hot pot soup base was worth it, as it came packed with lots of ingredients. Our favorites were the razor clam, scallops, and homemade prawn balls. Ensure you are hungry before you get here. Fantastic service, we were guided in and sat down at a table and explained how it works, that being which hotpot base you want to use. But they have a fantastic range of food to use to add to your hotpot, without the waiting involved in waving a staff member over and then getting the food. <br/ The nonalcoholic are free and you can buys beers if you wish. I absolutely recommend trying this place at least once especially special occasions as it is a bit pricey <br/
The overall experience at this restaurant was fantastic. I appreciated having my own pot, which made it simple to select my preferred dishes. The menu was extensive with a wide variety of options to choose from. In addition, drinks and a selection of desserts, like cake and jelly, were also included. I would definitely return to try the dishes I didn't get to try this time!
Great buffet, generous portions of food and drinks. The hotpot I picked was really tasty and went beautifully with the vegetables and seafood there was on offer. Would be great if they offered more choices for the broth choice, for the hotpot as only four choices are somewhat limiting. Overall a great experience would visit again.
I would recommend avoiding the spicy soup as it left a strange numbness on my tongue. Additionally, the pork had a terrible smell.
