I was in your shop this morning around 10am and was served by a guy. I have never received worst customer service in my life. He was rude, rolling his eyes at me, sighed when I asked where the washroom was and didn't bother to tell me I needed a key to get in. When I came back from the locked doors looking for a key he rolled his eyes at me again and pointed at the counter where it was sitting. I advised him he wasn't being very nice and he could use some customer service skills. He then told me he didnt agree with the strike. Made an online order this morning which I paid for and when I went in to pick up my coffee at 7:20 AM, I noticed that the door was locked and no one was inside. The store was supposed to be open by 7. I went back an hour later and they were open, so I spoke to the barista and inquired about my order to which he sighed and stated that I shouldn’t have placed an order online before checking in person to see if they were open (he did not apologize or offer an explanation).He was rude to several customers and often would not acknowledge anyone that walked in.I feel sympathetic that he is the only person working at a fairly busy location, but the customer service is horrible. I used to love Second Cup and was eager to visit again while in Ottawa, especially since they removed them from my area north of Toronto. I usually indulge whenever I get the chance. I ordered my go-to hot chocolate and an oatmeal raisin cookie, but to my disappointment, they were out of cookies. It was 2 PM on a Sunday when I picked up my order and decided to use the washroom. Unfortunately, it was absolutely disgusting—so much so that I nearly felt sick. There was no way I was going to enjoy my hot chocolate after seeing such a filthy restroom. Did they even bother to clean the outside? It was such a waste of a perfectly good hot chocolate.
emailed as per reply from Second Cup I work next to this location but avoid it as much as possible due to poor service with one particular staff member. Last time I was there, he had forgotten a pastry from my order and quite honestly, I was afraid to ask for it. Of course when I did he rolled his eyes and begrudgingly gave it to me. This isn’t the inviting experience I hope to have when grabbing my morning coffee. I am sure other staff are much more pleasant and friendly but this one spoils it for me every time.
