Seiya continues to impress with its authentic Japanese cuisine and high-quality atmosphere. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the inviting, modern decor and attentive staff. The sashimi was fresh and expertly prepared, practically melting in my mouth. Their unique rolls were creative and beautifully presented. The chef effortlessly combines traditional flavors with modern touches, making Seiya a must-visit for sushi lovers and those seeking something different. Don't forget to pair your meal with their impressive selection of sake for the perfect dining experience. I will definitely be returning soon!
It is easy to overlook this restaurant as it appears to be just a black door from the street, but trust me, it is definitely worth a visit! This hidden gem opens up to a stylish and chic sushi restaurant with exceptionally friendly staff. They use top-quality ingredients, some sourced directly from Japan. The omakase is outstanding, but do not miss out on the Japanese risotto - it is possibly the best rice dish I have ever tasted. I would highly recommend this restaurant and give it a perfect 10/10 rating.
I ordered the sashimi omakase and three rolls - salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. I was seated near the front of the restaurant, so I couldn't see much inside. Despite that, the food was definitely above average and the service was good. I would suggest opting for more rolls rather than the omakase. Overall, I would rate the service a 5, the food a 4, and the atmosphere a 4. The average price per person for dinner was $50-100.
I was disappointed to find that the chu-toro listed on the menu was not actually what was served. It appeared to be a cheaper, leaner cut of tuna. It seemed like they had relabeled their normal maguro as chu-toro and raised the price. The service was good, with a rating of 5, and the atmosphere was nice as well, receiving a rating of 5. Conveniently located in downtown San Carlos. The decor is really beautiful on the inside. The food is very hit or miss for me. The tacos would have been a lot better with about 1/4 the amount of salsa on top. The grilled scallops were so overcooked. The risotto is really a standout. It is so savory and delicious. I would be back for that but not the rest. Food: 3
