A group of 4 of us visited Kessler and spent a couple of hours trying several different kinds of sparkling wine and cocktails. I always prefer hard liquor and/or cocktails to wine, so the history and reputation of the cellar was a bit lost on me. If you're a huge wine aficionado, you'll likely love this place.The server at the bar outside was very friendly, helpful, and spoke English. The prices were around 3 euros for a glass of sparkling white wine and around 7 euros for the cocktails. They don't have very many cocktails on their list, but the one I had was very good. We stopped in to have a few glasses of sparkling wine on a sunny and warm Saturday afternoon in October. After collecting our wine, we headed to the courtyard to enjoy it. The wine is delicious and goes down very easy. They also serve bottled water and coffees if you care for those. The building itself is historic and magificent, very well kept up, as you would expect from a wealthy family with hundreds of years of history. It can be quite busy at the weekend so try to choose less popular times - like 11am or mid-afternoon.
This is my second tour to the Kessler Sektkellerei - and I have enjoyed it again.The champagnes are really delicious...and affordable. If you buy after the tour, your get it delivered home free of charge (within Germany).The tour is very interesting, Gives an insight of the making of champagne/ sparkling wine and the area. At the end of the tour, you get to taste 3-4 different kinds of champagne...
Visited Kessler on our visit to Esslingen am Neckar. We wanted to try out the oldest sparkling wine in Germany-it was very good, even though I'm not normally a sparkling wine drinker. I may actually get this again. They have a small weingarten in the back (outside) and a couple tables and benches inside the store for you to sit and sip their wine. Reasonably priced, would recommend a visit.

Visiting the oldest german sparkling wine cellar is really nice and enjoyable, especially after tasting some of the very nice sparkling wines.In the shop you will also find a small museum with the history of the wine cellar and on Saturdays go early, because it will be crowded already at 10 am. Very nice courtyard available where to sit and listen to some music (Saturdays only)
We treated ourselves to a glass of Sekt each on our recent visit to Esslingen. It was Sunday so only the tent was open but the staff were happy to advise on what would suit our varied palettes. Their recommendations were spot on; we went back next morning to by a bottle of each of the three we had sampled. I wish we had dad time to do the tour.
This is another dinning experience that you hear people rave about and won't be disappointed when you go your self. Fantastic ambiance and meals, excellent wine list and the staff were awesome.
Obviusly i don't like champagne. My visist was a part of an afternoon programme. I was not disappointed, the original Kessler savor was amazing. I you visit Esslingen, you have to go there!

Right off the main square you can find this great place. On a nice day you can walk up to their outdoor Sekt bar and get some great Sekt cocktails. What's not to like?
One of the largest Sekt producers in Germany, you can either try some as part of a wine tasting or take a tour. Nice restaurant both inside and out.
