The food is always consistent and the price is fair. Service can be a little slow if you get a new person. However, the people that have been their a while are always quick. I am a regular and they know what everyone in my family drinks. Sometimes the drinks are on the table before we even get back from washing our hands. I strongly suggest you skip the chips and order the Grilled Chicken Nachos. Pretty much any thing on the menu with Grilled Chicken is amazing. They have another location in Glendora but it does not have the same feel. The Glendora location is in a old Denny's type building and does not have the same charm.
Easy to find on a Friday during dinner time. Wait Time: No wait for a party of 2 with a completely full restaurant. Bar seating also available. Greeted and seated immediately by owner. Very friendly staff, family oriented and speedy service. Clean bathrooms. Enchilada and Shredded Beef Taco combo plate was good, frijoles were creamy and delicious but the rice could use a little more flavor. Taquito combo plate came with rice, beans and a side of guacamole. Taquitos were decent, guacamole was made perfectly, just added a little bit of salt. On a scale 0-10 with 10 being the best, I'd give this place a 6.
Ordered steak picado plate. Loved the homemade tortillas, the steak was chopped small the beans were good. The picado however was sweet with red onion and stewed tomatoes. Yuck. My husband ordered the street tacos and gave the carne asada tacos a thumbs up. Oddly though, they had no chile... Not even a bottle of Tapatio anywhere. The waiter said because it's Sunday. If we come back, it'll just be for the street tacos in a day other than Sunday!
Been going to Sergio's longer than they have been here in La Verne. They were my favourite Mexican restaurant in Glendora, and was happy to see them open a new restaurant here in La Verne. My family and I have tried everything on the menu over the years and we love them all. Thanks for all the good service these past years. We will continue to come back for more good food.
VEGAN Review Didn't eat here but 5 stars for customer service. I called to ask what was in their veggie burrito: pico de gallo, rice, beans, and cheese. They cook their rice with chicken broth and their beans contain lard so unfortunately there are no vegan options here.
