Ordered Masala Sauce did not have much flavor but was very creamy. Even just some salt improves the sauce, and Im not the kind of person to really indulge in salt. The description for the chicken tikka masala says its cooked with peppers and onions and I expected that in the masala sauce (perhaps incorrectly). Very bland overall. Also ordered Palak Paneer same as with the Masala Sauce. Not very much flavor but very creamy. The cheese seems to be in very small chunks almost as if it was all blended and not larger ones like in the picture. Very bland. Garlic Naan is amazing! Very flavorful and fluffy. Favorite part of the entire meal. Not sure if this restaurant lets you order by level of spic...

Food was OK but feel ripped off by the prices and portion size on some items. We had ordered Aloo Paratha from Shalimar (Latham) several weeks ago and it was great and large portion for $5. Decided to try Shalimar (Troy) and found the same item was $8 and the portion size was less than half the size! And order of Aloo Paratha, Chicken Biryani, naan, and Paneer Makhani(small portion as well) came to $55 after fees, tax, and tip. That is way too much for a small lunch for 2.

The owner and staff here are terrific. They really want you to enjoy your food. The place is nothing to look at, but it’s comfortable and clean enough to enjoy your meal. Prices are a little high, but seem about right for the area.

absolutely delicious stuff. the rice is fluffy, the Chicken Tikka Masala is flavorful and has a great texture, the Raita goes great with the Garlic Naan. its all wonderful as always

Four stars for decent Indian food. One star for the very creepy bathroom in the basement.
