Shamrat Indian Resturant

I visited Shamrat for the first time on Christmas Eve with my aunt, uncle, and dad. The food was very nice and the manager and staff were friendly. The Cobra beer was served ice cold and the restaurant is spacious inside. They do not rush you, allowing you to take your time between courses. The poppadoms and chutneys were fresh, the reshmi kebab was succulent, and the mushroom rice and balti jalfrezi were good. The chicken tikka masala was also enjoyable. I highly recommend giving this place a try, you will not be disappointed. The manager even treated us to coffee and sambuca on the house, which was a nice touch. I love this place.

Living just around the corner, we used to be regulars. However our last couple of visits have gone from poor to dreadful. Service was limited to one over worked waiter resulting in many tables walking out. (We waited over an hour for starters! Food is not nearly as good as it used to be. Portions poor, quality dreadful. The owner seemed not to care as he said he's closing down and refurbing as a restaurant and cocktail bar! Certainly wont be visiting again. And considering that there is so much good competition in the area one would have thought that the owner would try and improve the quality and service.

We used to go to the shamrat a lot about 5 years ago,so what happened.the place was nearly empty on a Friday night.we actually had a nice meal and pleasent evening,but we did notice a lot of cut backs.no cloth napkins,smaller portions,dearer prices,a 4x3 wet wipe at the end of the meal and no drink on the house...it all adds up to poorer times....sad...use to be the place to eat in buckhurst hill...

We went into the Shamrat as the Indian at the top of the road as full, we were advised they had just opened so did not have too much alcohol and did not take cards. The food was EXCELLENT, we all enjoyed what we ordered and had a nice bottle of wine. Will visit again

This is a frequent, value for money restaurant. I have been literally 10s of times the food has been consistent every time. It's standard curry house fare, but the service is good the ambiance great for a catchup with friends. No frills, no nonsense place

Couldn’t see a hygiene sticker in the window so checked up the Food Standards Agency website this place only gets 1 out of 5 for hygiene which is highly off putting. Still unable to see the hygiene sticker almost a year later.

We came to this restaurant during our last trip. The food was fantastic. We placed our order over the phone and walked down the road to pick it up. It was ready quickly and the staff was very friendly.

The food and service at this restaurant are excellent. The staff and atmosphere are lovely. I highly recommend this modern Indian restaurant. The presentation of the food is also exceptional.

This always used to be the go to curry house in Buckhurst Hill. It may still be but on the night we went it was only average. Couldn’t recommend and will be trying a competitor next time.
