My partner and I haven't been here for several months but were Sunday lunch regulars for a while and the last time, we brought the kids with us for dinner.They absolutely loved it and since we were there in July, have asked a few times to go back, so that will happen shortly.Shams has been open for perhaps not much more than a year but it is a must do.The meats are cooked to absolute perfection over the hot coals, the smoke caringly fanned by the chef.The home made Afghan bread is incredible!The salads couldn't be crispier and the yoghurt couldn't be fresher.When you order a sit-down meal, you are served with an incredibly delicious complimentary, spicy chicken and vegetable soup.We usually...

I've been a few times now and heartily recommend Shams, they have quality fresh food at a great price. The place is a simple family style restaurant but it's pleasant and clean. It's easy to over order due to generous portions so be warned. On my first visit, myself and two other carnivores ordered a selection to share and we really struggled to get even close to finishing it all and the bill was $51 with soft drinks! Bread fanciers will enjoy the fresh warm afghan loaf too. My Malaysian friends can come too as Shams is Halal.

Sham's is a small restaurant on located along Thomas street near the corner of Walker street.There are an abundance Iranian/Afghan style cuisine in Dandenong.Shams offers an appetizing dinner and a memorable experience on our taste buds.We had a range of chicken and lamb grilled kebabs, spicy soup, Turkish style bread, dips, salad and rice. Our dips and bread was unlimited.All this food without our drinks was a total of $54 for three people.$14 per head, rice extra at $12.Great food, great price, great service.

We really enjoyed the quality of the food and the overall service. we are a family of 4 and ordered the mix kebab menue for only $14.00 and had a huge fresh afghan bread with salad and yougurt all for free plus large sized 4 choice of kebabs. So we ordered 2 chiken &2 lamb kebab (mix) for the whole family for only $14.00. We really recommend this resturant to any family who look for a healthy, high quality food and affordable menues.Can't wait for another visit :) Réservez une table maintenant

went to Shams after reading other reviews and can echo other comment. Curry chicken soup was delicious. I ordered 4 mixed kebabs plus rice. Didn't expect though to get big bowl of Turkish bread plus fresh salad and mint yoghurt. Have to admit it beat me (which doesn't happen often!). All was well prepared, spiced and cooked. And all for $20. I had to check they hadn't made a mistake. If in Dandenong it is definitely worth a visit.

Located on Thomas St in Dandenong and open from 10-10pm. This joint offers fresh food with a great value. A mix plate include 3 types of Kabab which offers complimentary chicken soup, yoghurt dip, chutney, fresh plate of salad, fresh hot baked bread and 4 delicious skewers of kabab all for $14. Give it a try please.

We got the kebabs here, very value for money. Just a basic take away place without trying to be anything other than what it is. The whole time we were there eating there was a steady stream of customers ordering food. The locals definetly appreciate how good the food here is.

Nice and tidy place atmosphere is right. Food is awesome and fresh and was prepped up right after the order. Kebab was really good and tender and was served within a reasonable time. The serving was generous and a good value for money. Réservez une table maintenant

just buy mixed kebab (enough for two person and good value for money .great food (one of the staff love staring at you and show some terrible gestures but others are lovely )

This is an unpretentious kebab restaurant that serves really good food. Very spacious inside, but it does get busy at lunchtime ( I haven't been here at dinnertime).
