A few family members had ordered takeaway from this place, but this was the first time we'd eaten there. We had a large group, and while the front of house isn't a strength of this restaurant, our orders were taken easily enough.Drinks prices here are low, with a reasonable selection.Our entrees were delicious - especially shallot pancakes and salt & pepper eggplant.The mains were terrific: generous serves, and included a wonderful, spicy and tender lamb dish.We are all pretty choosy eaters, and we finished the meal totally satisfied, with a couple of containers of leftovers. One dish ordered by our vegetarian section was not delivered, but no one cared, we just waddled out the door, content...
We frequently drive Marion Road but had overlooked this restaurant until recently. Dropped in for dinner and found restaurant quite buzy so ended up just using the bar and ordering Take-Away. The decor is clean and functional with a bright dining area.The entrance has a wide door assisting wheelchair access and the waiting area has large, ornately carved seating.The food was really good, fresh and at reasonable prices, 2 drinks, main, fried rice, prawn toast was $44.00; value and welcome on a cold Sunday night. Entrees from $5-12 and mains from around $11 with most expensive , lamb fillet, $24. BYO and full license. Parking at the rear is reasonable with an off-street option too.
Order a few dishes for delivery. They got our order wrong, we should of seen the warning signs then. Ordered to be delivered at 7, turned up at 7.30 with the wrong order.The chicken and corn soup had no sign of corn in it. The ribs weren't on the bone, just chunks of meat.The chicken chow mein was the worst I've ever had. Uncooked veggies and a tablespoon of well over cooked noodles in a bland sauce. I expected loads of noodle with a tasty sauce, wrong. Weird tasting sweet and sour sauce.Never again will I order from there, waste of my time and money. AVOID! Be warned.
Ordered takeaway and the food took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get delivered. When it arrived they had delivered the wrong food. Then waited another 1 hour and 20 minutes to sort out the problem and got the right dish delivered. I'm not a fussy eater but the food that arrived was bland and probably the worst Chinese food I have ever tried. One dish was inedible. Really disappointed with the service. Nothing offered to make up for their mistake. Not even an apology. Then disgusting food. Will never go back. Réservez une table maintenant
Ordered Chicken with Cashew nut, Bbq Crispy Beef, Salt'n'pepper chicken, beef & chicken satays. Food was delivered promptly, however that is the only positive thing I could say. The chicken & cashew nut was absolutely terrible as if it was microwaved, we also found a small metal shaving in it. The satays were extremely chewy. The beef was disgusting and tasteless. Overall, worst meal ever.
Well not often do I eat alone but tonight I wanted some Veges and I know Chinese people always love their Veges. And I love it cause Chinese Veges are always par cooked which when you bite into them they crunch ..And Shanghai Garden Restaurant didn't disappoint Yummy ❤️❤️I also had prawn toast with sesame Omg to die for Definitely coming back
