Shanna's Place - Réservation de table

We were in Qualicum for the day and decided on the way hope to stop for coffee and a bite to eat. Nothing was open in Coombs (all seasonal restaurants) so we drove towards Parksville, stopped at Shanna's Place. We first walked in, my impression was, okay, it was full of people, despite the decor was quite simple and dated. But being it was busy, the food must be good. Well, it was. I just wanted something simple, so we had grilled cheese sandwiches with fries (with tomato and mushrooms as extra) on sourdough bread. We have been going to Shanna's Place now for a few years and always have had great food and service. The prices are reasonable, owners, cooks and servers are very friendly and seem to genuinely care to make your meal a little more than acceptable. They have regular patrons who recognize you, and might remember your name :), we don't either but it gives you a warm and comfortable feeling always.

This little cafe is actually quite a decent size inside and, you can tell by all the business folk in there that they have good food. Almost everyone there seemed to be a regular. The service was terrific and they made us feel very welcome. So nice to be able to get eggs benny when we feel like it instead of when a restaurant does

We were just passing through but spent two nights in Parksville. We were going over to Tofino for a day and stopped for breakfast. They have four egg omelets so you cannot go away hungry. We were impressed enough that we stopped again before heading south. Just really nice people and good food. Réservez une table maintenant

This restaurant serves classic diner food with a personal touch! It's a family-owned establishment where they make the fries fresh to order by cutting the potatoes right on the spot. My go-to dish is the bacon cheddar Eggs Benedict - it's delicious!

The fish and chips were pretty good. We ordered takeout for the family and enjoyed it. The dish was light and the fries were homemade, which was a nice touch.

Do not underestimate this hidden gem of a restaurant nestled in a strip mall next to a dollar store! The food is fantastic and refreshingly humble.

Small, busy, very casual place. Excellent Hollandaise sauce for the eggs benny. Great value for the money.
