A small group of us have gone here for several years for an early Christmas get together and the occasional celebration. None of us drink so always order soft drinks like cola or sparkling water. The Shapla has never, ever been busy and we're usually the only customers there. On previous occasions the lone waiter has been pleasant, the food reasonable and service good. We’d booked a table for 7.30pm on a Sunday evening. When we arrived, there were two other people in the restaurant. A third came in and sat alone a little later. We have been ordering from this takeout restaurant for years because we used to love the food, but the last few times have been very disappointing. The food looked and tasted different, and even the packaging had changed. The Chicken Tikka Masala, which used to be a light pink/orange color, was now a dark red and overly sweet with a strong coconut flavor. It was still decent, but not as good as it used to be. The chicken biryani with vegetable curry was also disappointing, with old and tasteless vegetables. The darka dhal, my favorite dish, had no flavor at all in the last order. The customer service is absolutely terrible and the food is awful. I have been a customer of this restaurant for many years, but lately the food quality has been declining with each order I receive. The deliveries are always extremely late, sometimes over an hour late. In my most recent experience, my takeout order took 2 hours to arrive and was cold. Also, the wrong food was delivered. When I tried to address these issues with the customer service, it was not up to standard. I highly advise against using this restaurant.
it is my go-to-local restaurant in a very residential area. you can eat and take out. as second we never paid more than 40 pounds. it average about £28 with a common starter, everyone, everyone side and a naan everyone. I can't blame what we get for our money. the menu is plentiful. their usual curry dishes, but also some biryani and Balti dishes. a good selection of cooking specialities. I enjoy eating her and there are few English courts when they take someone who is not indians.
Usually always have home delivery, decided this time to eat in. The restaurant is very well maintained, balanced and tranquil. Waiters very friendly and accommodating. The food was wonderful too, lovely and hot, fresh and tastes amazing. You will not be disappointed. Will certainly be back.
came here tonight for Valentine's Day dinner, there was a wait as they were busy, but this shows me how many people enjoy their food. the food was delicious, the food was hot and you could say it was fresh. have the left side taken home to have a tasty meal. 100% will be back!
