It is a rare pleasure to come across a pub that offers old-fashioned service with a touch of thoughtfulness, excellent value for money, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Unlike many other pubs where the staff seem untrained and uninterested in their jobs, the team at the Ship in Distress knows exactly what they are doing. Kudos to them for their exceptional service!

Terrible service, had to go and find a server, asked her if she could take our order, her answer was 'I suppose I can '. We ordered roasts, the potatoes were hard, clearly been sat around for hours and reheated. Poor quality meat. Will not be going back.

Haven’t been for a few years and was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful, food was amazing. Really cool atmosphere in the pub. Love the refurb work, feels like a proper pub rather than other local soulless pubs.

The food is delicious and the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely come back to eat here again.
