I have been to Benihana and other teppanyaki restaurants before, but this was my first experience at Shogun, and I thoroughly enjoyed our family dinner there. We brought our children along, and the staff was incredibly friendly, providing excellent customer service. The chef who cooked for us was both entertaining and humorous. Each of us ordered different dishes, but I highly recommend the lobster and ribeye steak. I added calamari to my meal, and it was delicious as well. We went with kids and the staff were all very friendly and they gave superb customerservice. The chef who cooked in front of us was entertaining and fun. Never been here before and really wanted to try this place out for a long time. However, attempting to try this place via takeout was a real an inconvenience. Really wish I can give a review based of their food, but this one star is earned due tothe difficulty of getting their food via take out! I had called in several times over a span of 1hr to place an order, and noone picks up the phone! I then drive to the place, and attemp to place a take out order at the restaurant. I am told the waitfor food is 1hr... Not a pleasant experience. Really need to focus on their takeout services.
I typically dine in the bar area on my lunch break from time to time since I work less than a mile away . I came today after work to have dinner with my bf in the bar area again and felt like the bar tenders definitely lack service at the table top bar areas . It’s understandable that it gets a little busier around the evening but it shouldn’t take 15-30 for a bar tender to check up on his tables . Still enjoy coming here but they need to definitely step up the service ..

We love picking up our father and going to eat at the Shogun Restaurant in La Verne. He always gets a kick out of watching them cook the delicious food. The shrimp, filet mignon, fried rice are my personal favorites. The cooks make everyone feel welcomeand we all have a good time. Recommend this place for dates, family and friend gatherings.

I really don’t like to write negative reviews, but they earned it today. We waited for an hour when they had promised just 15 minutes. They ended up giving away our table! They then told us it would be another 30 minutes.
