Shotgun Willie's Bbq

After trying Beef Brisket in Dallas for the first time, I have been on the lookout for the best Beef Brisket in Nashville. I believe I have found it at Shotgun Willie's. The restaurant recently relocated from a small spot on Gallatin Road to a much larger location also on Gallatin Road near Briley Parkway and close to the Nashville National Military Cemetery. The new space is very spacious. I anticipate that once the word gets out about their Brisket, the restaurant will start filling up quickly. My wife tried the pork barbecue and also found it to be excellent. Shotgun Willie's closes at 3pm or when they run out of food, so make sure to arrive early. If you want to experience PEAK Southern Hospitality and phenomenal BBQ Go no further. We came a bit too close to them closing and missed out on brisket, but they hooked us up with pulled pork and sausages. Extraordinarily friendly, loved the atmosphere and overall vibe. Everything was delicious, their SWEET TEA honestly is one of the best I 've had (and we 've been getting it EVERYWHERE we go in town while travelling through). Pulled Pork my wife voted the best she 's had, loved the little spice powder they add in. Great spicy or sweet sauce options. My best 'bite ' honestly was both sauces on the pulled pork and eating that with the Mac N Cheese.

Upon entering the establishment, I was warmly welcomed by Tony, who demonstrated exceptional affability and willingness to assist. He shared his personal preference for the pulled pork dish. I subsequently ordered the pulled pork sandwich accompanied by potato salad, both of which exceeded my expectations and are highly recommended. The sandwich was exceptionally fresh and delectable, obviating the need for additional barbecue sauce. I also recommend trying their sweet tea, which is truly deserving of a name such as Sweet as Chelle.

The food had almost zero taste. The brisket was plain and chewy with no smoke flavor, the Mac and cheese tasted like noodles, the beans were okay. The cornbread wasn’t good either. Maybe it’s because I’m used to BBQ places like Pappys and Bogarts in St. Louis, but I left feeling saddened I just spent money here. I hope others have a better experience than we had. Brisket and service were both 5 star. Loved the music and the atmosphere. The queso Mac was the best side we tried. Did not love the cornbread and potato salad. But since we are talking BBQ not sides still a 5 star review.

This place is amazing, the food was great the service was excellent. The owner is am amazing person who does all this from the heart. Best BBQ we had in our 4 days we were there. Went to a different BBQ everyday.

This place has the best everything ! The brisket is incredible and so is the green beans and slaw. I didn't eat the macaroni personally so I can't speak on that. But I do know there was nothing left.

A little pricey, but great food. They make small-ish batches, so come early if you want to make sure they haven't run out of what you want.
